HC Dynamo Moscow () is a professional ice hockey club based in Moscow, Russia. It is a member of the Tarasov Division in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Dynamo has won the Gagarin Cup twice, in 2011–12 KHL season, 2011–12 and 2012–13 KHL season, 2012–13 seasons, and have won the regular season championship once, in 2013–14 KHL season, 2013–14, winning the Continental Cup (KHL), Continental Cup. Gagarin Cup
The Gagarin Cup () is the trophy presented to the winner of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs, and is named after Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space. The Cup was supposedly named after Gagarin because the last possible game of the inaugural KHL season took place on April 12, the anniversary date of Gagarin's flight. After the end of the KHL's regular season, sixteen teams participate in the playoffs. The round of 16 and quarter-finals were a best-of-five series during the first season, and the semi-finals and finals were a best-of-seven series during the first season. HC MVD
HC MVD () was a professional ice hockey club based in Balashikha, Moscow Oblast, Russia. They were members of the Tarasov Division of the Kontinental Hockey League. They are best known for winning the silver medal in the KHL backstopped by all star goaltender Michael Garnett in 2010. The team merged with Dynamo Moscow to form UHC Dynamo after the 2009–10 season. The Soviet Cup, or USSR Cup (),, , , (Moldovan Cyrillic: Купа УРСС), , , . was the premier football cup competition in the Soviet Union conducted by the Football Federation of the Soviet Union. The 1991–92 season of the tournament was known as Soviet/CIS Cup (). As a knockout tournament it was conducted parallel to the All-Union league competitions in double round-robin format. The winner of the competition was awarded a qualification to the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, unless it already qualified for the European Cup, in turn passed the qualification to the finalist. Arkady Chernyshev
Arkady Ivanovich Chernyshev (; March 16, 1914 – April 17, 1992) was a Russian ice hockey, football and bandy player, who played in the Soviet Top Hockey League. As a coach, he led Dynamo Moscow and the Soviet Union national ice hockey team. Chernyshev was inducted into the Russian and Soviet Hockey Hall of Fame in 1948, and the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1999. Career Chernyshev served as Dynamo Moscow team head coach from 1946 until 1974. Under his leadership, Dynamo Moscow won the USSR Championship title in the seasons 1946/1947 and 1953/1954. HC Spartak Moscow (, ) is a professional ice hockey club based in Moscow, Russia. It is a member of the Bobrov Division in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Continental Cup (KHL)
The Continental Cup (), also known as the Kontinental Cup, is the trophy presented to the winner of the regular season of the Kontinental Hockey League, i.e. the team with the most points at the end of the regular season. The name and trophy were introduced during the second season of the competition. In the first season it was simply named the regular season winner. During the history of KHL, the winner of Continental Cup had never won Gagarin Cup in the same season before 2018–19, when CSKA Moscow became the first team to win both trophies.
