H3llb3nt were an electro-industrial supergroup formed in 1995. The original line-up band consisted of Bryan Barton (of haloblack), Charles Levi (of Pigface), Jared Louche (of Chemlab), Jordan Nogood and Eric Powell (of 16Volt). They released three full length albums: '' 0.01'' (1996), ''Helium'' (1998), ''Hardcore Vanilla'' (2001) History H3llb3nt was formed in San Francisco by Bryan Barton, Charles Levi, Jared Louche, Jordan Nogood and Eric Powell. The idea came about when Powell and Barton were touring with their bands, 16Volt and haloblack respectively, and decided on collaborating on an electronic music project that and had less emphasis on guitars. ''Helium'' is the second studio album by the electronic band H3llb3nt. It was released in 1998 on Re-Constriction Records. Reception ''CMJ'' critic David Avery gave the album a positive write-up saying "Helium takes the elements industrial holds dear — sinister, breathy vocals, brutal beatscapes and slicing guitar riffs — and augments them with intelligently programmed rhythmss and a wide range of electro influences." Jared Louche
Jared Louche (born Jared Hendrickson; December 11, 1960) is an American musician best recognized as the front-man of industrial rock outfit Chemlab. He also founded the band H3llb3nt and has collaborated with Pigface, Progrex.iv and Vampire Rodents. He released a solo album, titled ''Covergirl (Jared Louche and The Aliens album), Covergirl'' in 1999. Biography In July 1984, Jared Hendrickson and Tom Smith formed Peach of Immortality (band), Peach of Immortality. They released a handful of demo recordings before disbanding in 1991. Louche formed Chemlab with Dylan Thomas More and Joe Frank (musician), Joe Frank in 1989. The band released the albums ''Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar'' (1993) and ''East Side Militia'' (1996) on Fifth Colvmn Records. Re-Constriction Records was a division of Cargo Music based in California. The label was founded in 1992 and headed by Chase, who was previously the Music Director at KCR, a student radio station on the campus of San Diego State University. They specialized in releasing bands belonging to the industrial, aggrotech and EBM genres. After the label folded, Chase went to work for Access Communications where he worked for 14 years doing video game-related public relations, including helping to launch Twitch in 2011. In May 2013, he took a staff job at Twitch overseeing all of their PR efforts. In 2019, he left Twitch and shortly thereafter joined StreamElements. History Chase contacted Belgium-based industrial label KK Records, a division of Cargo Music, to arrange for product servicing for the station which led to him getting a job with Cargo. Fifth Colvmn Records was a record label based in Washington, DC. The label was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, owner of the nightclub FIFTH COLVMN, located in Washington D.C. The label's first release was Chemlab's debut EP Ten Ton Pressure. Jared Hendrickson of Chemlab also became the general manager for the label. Chemlab later played several dates with Nine Inch Nails, eventually attracting a distribution deal for their next release, Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, with Metal Blade Records. The band Thud was the next artist to join the label. Heavy, loud and unrelenting, Thud became very popular amongst Metal fans and critics alike luring Eli Janney from Girls Against Boys to contribute to their debut record Life & Death and earning co-headling performances with Stone Temple Pilots.
