Géza Morcsányi
Géza Morcsányi (28 August 1952 – 4 January 2023) was a Hungarian actor, dramaturg, translator, and university professor. His debut film role was as Endre in the 2017 drama film '' On Body and Soul'', the Hungarian entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards. In 2005 he received the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary. Biography Morcsányi was born in Budapest, Hungary on 28 August 1952. Morcsányi began his career as a playwright in the 1986 television drama movie ''Kaméliás hölgy''. As a script editor he worked on two films, the 2001 film ''Passport'' and the 2003 comedy drama film ''Hungarian Beauty''. The 67th annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from 9 to 18 February 2017 with Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven as President of the Jury. '' Django'', directed by Etienne Comar, opened the festival. The story revolves around a CFO of a slaughterhouse and the newly appointed meat quality inspector who discover they can communicate with each other through their dreams, leading to an unlikely romance. It won the Golden Bear in the main competition section of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival. At Berlin it also won the FIPRESCI Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury. The Hungarian Order of Merit ( hu, Magyar Érdemrend) is the fourth highest State Order of Hungary. Founded in 1991, the order is a revival of an original order founded in 1946 and abolished in 1949. A script editor is a member of the production team of scripted television and radio programmes, usually dramas and comedies. The script editor has many responsibilities including finding new script writers, developing storyline and series ideas with writers, and ensuring that scripts are suitable for production. Magvető is a Hungarian book publishing company based in Budapest. It primarily publishes domestic and international works of literary fiction. History Magvető was established in 1955 as a publisher of the Magyar Írók Szövetsége (now the Hungarian Writers' Association).
