Gypsy (Fleetwood Mac Song)
"Gypsy" is a song by British-American Rock music, rock band Fleetwood Mac. The song was written by Stevie Nicks around 1979; the earliest demo recordings were made in early 1980 with Tom Moncrieff for possible inclusion on her debut solo album ''Bella Donna (album), Bella Donna''. However, when Nicks' close friend Robin Anderson died of leukemia, the song took on a new significance and Nicks held it over for Fleetwood Mac. "Gypsy" was the second single release and second biggest hit from the ''Mirage (Fleetwood Mac album), Mirage'' album, following "Hold Me (Fleetwood Mac song), Hold Me", reaching a peak of No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 for three weeks. Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band, formed in London in 1967. Fleetwood Mac were founded by guitarist Peter Green, drummer Mick Fleetwood and guitarist Jeremy Spencer, before bassist John McVie joined the line-up for their eponymous debut album. Danny Kirwan joined as a third guitarist in 1968. Keyboardist and vocalist Christine Perfect, who contributed as a session musician from the second album, married McVie and joined in 1970, becoming known as Christine McVie. Primarily a British blues band at first, Fleetwood Mac achieved a UK number one with " Albatross", and had other hits such as the singles " Oh Well", " Man of the World", and "The Green Manalishi". Russell Mulcahy ( ; born 23 June 1953) is an Australian film director. Mulcahy's work is recognisable by the use of fast cuts, tracking shots and use of glowing lights, neo-noir lighting, windblown drapery, and fans. The Rumours tour was a concert tour by Fleetwood Mac, after the release of the band's eleventh album Rumours (album), with the same title in February 1977. Due to the album's success Fleetwood Mac embarked on a world tour taking in North America, Europe, their native UK, Japan and Oceania. Taking a break from the recording sessions for their follow-up album ''Tusk (album), Tusk'', the band went back on the road in the summer of 1978, playing arenas and stadiums in the United States. Arcadia High School is a four-year comprehensive secondary school located on a site in Arcadia, California, United States. It is part of the Arcadia Unified School District. The high school was opened in 1952. The incoming freshman classes consist of students that feed in from Arcadia's three middle schools: First Avenue Middle School, Richard Henry Dana Middle School, and Foothills Middle School. Jefferson Airplane was an American rock band based in San Francisco, California, that became one of the pioneering bands of psychedelic rock. Grace Slick (born Grace Barnett Wing; October 30, 1939) is an American singer-songwriter, artist, and painter. Slick was a key figure in San Francisco's early psychedelic music scene in the mid-1960s. With a music career spanning four decades, she first performed with the Great Society, but is best known for her work with Jefferson Airplane and the subsequent successor bands Jefferson Starship and Starship. The Mamas & the Papas were a folk rock vocal group formed in Los Angeles, California, which recorded and performed from 1965 to 1968. The group was a defining force in the music scene of the counterculture of the 1960s. The group consisted of Americans John Phillips, Cass Elliot, and Michelle Phillips and Canadian Denny Doherty.
