Guy Kabeya Muya
Guy Kabeya Muya (born 1970) is a filmmaker from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was co-director with Monique Mbeka Phoba of the 2007 documentary '' Entre la coupe et l'élection'' (Between the cup and the election). Birth and education Guy Kabeya Muya was born in Kinshasa in 1970. In 1988 he entered the National Institute of Performance Arts (INAS) in Kinshasa, graduating with a degree in drama in 1996. He also took courses in Mbalmayo, Cameroon on audiovisual techniques and in Douala, Cameroon on animation and visual communication. He worked at Les Films de la Passerelle in Brussels as a post-production trainee and attended workshops at the Lagunimages Festival in Benin. Career Kabeya Muya wrote and directed television dramas in 1999. In 2004 he was first assistant to Thierry Michel on the set of the film '' Congo River, Beyond Darkness''. Kinshasa
Kinshasa (; ; ln, Kinsásá), formerly Léopoldville ( nl, Leopoldstad), is the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Thierry De Mey
Thierre De Mey (born 28 February 1956 in Brussels) is a musician and filmmaker from Belgium. Biography After studying film at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion, he continued to studying music composition and contemporary dance after meeting Fernand Schirren, for whose works he has written original incidental music. He works primarily with Rosas & Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Wim Vandekeybus and Michèle Anne De Mey, his youngest sister. He is the founder of the contemporary music ensemble Maximalist!, and he has participated in other important projects such as and Ictus Ensemble, for which he has composed several works. ''Katanga Business'' is a 2009 film by Belgian director Thierry Michel that explores the mining industry in Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Plot The province of Katanga in the south east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has huge mineral riches including uranium, zinc, copper and cobalt. These were exploited in colonial times by the Union Minière du Haut Katanga, which was nationalized in 1966 by President Mobutu Sese Seko. Mobutu lavished wealth on his clan, but the mines were soon abandoned, forcing the miners into illegal artisanal workings. More recently new investors have bought into the industry including Indians and Chinese. The film surveys the industrial and artisanal mining industry in Katanga Province. Charleroi Danses (Le Centre Chorégraphique de la Communauté Française Wallonie-Bruxelles) is the choreography center of the French Community of Belgium. History The company originated with the Royal Ballet of Wallonia, (Ballet Royale de Wallonie), founded in 1966, which was brought under the direction of Frédéric Flamand in 1991. Thierry Michel (born 13 October 1952) is a Belgian film director, mostly making social and political documentaries. His office and company ''Les films de la passerelle'' is located in Liège, where he works with the producer Christine Pireaux. Over a twenty-year period he has made a series of documentaries on different aspects of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo).
