Guido Tallone
Guido Tallone (11 May 1894 – 30 September 1967) was an Italian painter. Biography Tallone was born in Bergamo, Italy. Son of the painter Cesare Tallone, he took his father's courses at the Brera Academy. He fought in World War I and, after returning to Milan, continued to study painting, focusing on portraits and landscapes. The latter were frequently set in the environs of Alpignano where he and his family often used to stay in the house he inherited from his mother Eleonora Tango. He exhibited his works for the first time in the 1923 Esposizione Annuale della Società per le Belle Arti ed Esposizione Permanente in Milan. In the 1920s the artist made several productive trips to Berlin, Paris, Madrid and North Africa; he also stayed frequently in Switzerland, where he was highly rated as a portraitist. Fondazione Cariplo is a charitable foundation in Milan, Italy. It was created in December 1991 when the Amato law, Law no. 218 of 30 July 1990, came into force. Aldo Carpi
Aldo Carpi (6 October 1886 – 27 March 1973) was an Italian artist, painter and writer, author of a collection of memoirs concerning his imprisonment in the infamous Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp. Biography Born in Milan, early in his youth he started studying fine arts under the tutelage of Stefano Bersani. In 1906 he joined the Brera Academy, where he met some of the most renowned Italian painters of the time, including Giuseppe Mentessi, Carlo Cattaneo, Cesare Tallone, as well as Achille Funi, Emilio Gola and Carlo Carrà. The following year he showed his work at a Brera art exhibition, which was followed by an invitation to the 1912 Venice Biennale.
