Guido Henkel
Guido Henkel (born September 9, 1964, in Stuttgart, Germany) is a German-American video game designer. He is most well known for his work on '' Planescape: Torment'' and for creating the ''Realms of Arkania'' series of video games. Early life Henkel was born on September 9, 1964, in Stuttgart, Germany. He modeled a working microprocessor in high school before getting interested in video game development. Career Henkel focused on programming out of school, and formed his first company, Dragonware Games. Henkel began making text adventure games, and then moved onto creating role-playing games. After creating a series of games for a number of different early personal computers, he landed a publishing deal with Ariolasoft. After releasing a couple of games with the company, Henkel left and formed Attic Entertainment Software with two friends which published games for a number of early computer platforms. Sir-Tech Software, Inc. was a video game developer and publisher based in the United States and Canada. History In fall 1979, Sirotech Software was founded by Norman Sirotek, Robert Sirotek and Robert Woodhead. Sirotech Software published ''Info Tree'', a database management program, '' Galactic Attack'' and a beta version of ''Wizardry: Dungeons of Despair'' which was later renamed '' Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord'' and formally released in fall 1981. Exolon
''Exolon'' is a run and gun game programmed by Raffaele Cecco and published by Hewson in 1987 for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and Amstrad CPC 8-bit computers. It was later converted to the Enterprise 128, Amiga, and Atari ST. Gameplay The player takes control of a futuristic soldier across several flick-screen levels of gameplay. The screens that make up these levels are filled with various generic aliens as well as gun emplacements, homing missiles, landmines and other hazards. The soldier can defend himself with both a gun and rocket-propelled grenades. The two different weapons are effective against different enemies. A star trail is a type of photograph that uses long exposure times to capture ''diurnal circles'', the apparent motion of stars in the night sky due to Earth's rotation. A star-trail photograph shows individual stars as streaks across the image, with longer exposures yielding longer arcs.
