Sui ( Balochi: سوئ), is a sub-district of Dera Bugti District in Balochistan, Pakistan. The Sui gas field is located near Sui town. Generally this is the area of Bugti's. Location The town of Sui is near the corner where the provinces of Baluchistan, Sindh and Punjab meet. It is about 9 km from Punjab, and 10 km from Sindh. Sui Gas Field is a natural gas field near Sui in Balochistan Province, Pakistan that is operated by Pakistan Petroleum Limited. Guddu Thermal Station
The Guddu Thermal Power Plant, also known by other names such as Central Power Generation Company Limited, and GENCO-II, is a thermal power station located in Guddu, Sindh, Pakistan. Built in 1980s, the power plant was built with joint technical cooperation and financial assistance from the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). In April 2014, the then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated commissioning of two gas turbines of 243 MW each. , the station had seventeen installed power units and its contribution to the national grid stood between 1,400 MW to 1,750 MW. 1972 Bhutto Visit To Soviet Union
In March 1972, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, president of Pakistan, visited the Soviet Union to help normalize formal relations between the two countries. Bhutto engaged in substantive discussions with Soviet leaders in Moscow, including meeting with Chairman Alexei Kosygin and Secretary-General Leonid Brezhnev. Even before being elected on a socialist platform in 1971, Bhutto had spoken of the necessity of independent foreign policy and stronger relations with the Soviet Union, which had been fractured during the direct war with India and the Indo-Soviet Treaty. The meeting was marked as a reconciliation between the states and as a restoration of industrial co-operation. It also signaled a wider shift towards an independent foreign policy, in particular to reduce Pakistan's dependence on the United States. Guddu Barrage
Guddu Barrage ( ur, )is a barrage on the Indus River near Kashmore in the Sindh province of Pakistan. President Iskander Mirza laid the foundation-stone of Guddu Barrage on 2 February 1957. The barrage was completed in 1962 at a cost of 474.8 million rupees and inaugurated by Field Marshal Ayub Khan in 1962. Guddu Barrage is used to control water flow in the River Indus for irrigation and flood control purposes. It has a discharge capacity of 1.2 million cubic feet per second (34,000 m³/s). It is a gate-controlled weir type barrage with a navigation lock. The barrage has 64 bays, each 60 feet (18 m) wide. The maximum flood level height of Guddu Barrage is 26 feet (8 m). It controls irrigation supplies to 2.9 million acres (12,000 km²) of agricultural land in the Kashmore, Jacobabad, Larkana and Sukkur districts of Sindh province and the Naseerabad district of Balochistan province.
