Gsies (; it, Valle di Casies ) is a valley and ''comune'' (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about northeast of Bolzano, on the border with Austria. Gsies held the FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships 1994. Gsieser-Tal-Lauf
The Gsieser-Tal-Lauf (Italian: ''Gran Fondo Val Casies'') is a cross-country skiing race that takes place every year on the third weekend in February in the Gsiesertal in South Tyrol, Italy. It is the largest mass winter sports event in South Tyrol and the second largest in Italy. The event has never been cancelled (except in 2021 / COVID-19) since the race was first held in 1984, a unique record in Europe. Every year around 2,300 people from over 35 nations take part in the race. Course The loop route from Gsieser Tal to Welsberg-Taisten, Taisten begins and ends in St. Martin in Gsies (1,220 m a.s.l.). The route distances are 30 km and 42 km for both classic and skating styles, and both races feature a wave-start format. Age-group categories are also awarded. There are 6 points classifications, 3 for the classic races and 3 for the skating races, and all races count towards the Euroloppet Series. The "KIDS Run" is traditionally held on Saturday afternoon. Niederdorf, South Tyrol
Niederdorf (; it, Villabassa ) is a municipality in South Tyrol in northern Italy, about northeast of Bolzano. Geography Niederdorf borders the following municipalities: Prags, Toblach, Welsberg-Taisten, and Gsies. History Coat-of-arms The emblem is per fess and the base per pale. Rasen-Antholz
Rasen-Antholz (; it, Rasun-Anterselva ) is a municipality in South Tyrol in northern Italy. Geography The municipal area stretches along the Antholz valley, a northern side valley of the larger Puster Valley. In the northeast, the Staller Saddle mountain pass, at a height of leads into the Defereggen Valley in East Tyrol, Austria. The Antholz valley is confined by the mountains of the Rieserferner Group in the north and the Villgraten Mountains in the east, both part of the High Tauern range in the Central Eastern Alps. Notable peaks include the Hochgall, at , and the Wildgall (Collaspro), at , as well as the Ohrenspitzen massif, at , in the northeast. Toblach (; it, Dobbiaco ) is a ''comune''/''Gemeinde'' (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located in the Puster Valley about northeast of the city of Bolzano, on the border with Austria. Bolzano
