Group Of The Independent Deputies
The Group of the Independent Deputies (), also known as GDP, were a parliamentary group in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo made up of former members of the Vetëvendosje movement (LV). Dardan Sejdiu was the head of the parliamentary group. On 4 May 2018, GDP dissolved into the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo. Dardan Sejdiu
Dardan Sejdiu (born 13 August 1979) is a Kosovo Albanian politician. He served as the leader of the parliamentary group of Social Democratic Party of Kosovo in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. He also served as Deputy Mayor of Prishtina as a member of the capital of the Kosovo between 2014 and 2017, being a member of Vetëvendosje at the time. Previously, he has been engaged for four years as president of the management board of the Slovenian-Kosovo Pension with a key role in managing this fund for the whole of Kosovo. Sejdiu was a member of Vetevendosje from 2011 to 2018. Political career Dardan Sejdiu as a member of the New Spirit Party ran in the 2010 elections, but the party did not pass the electoral threshold. Vetëvendosje
Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (, en, Self-determination Movement; LVV) is a centre-left to left-wing political party in Kosovo. It is orientated towards principles of social democracy, populism, and Albanian nationalism. Vetëvendosje was founded in 2005 as a grassroots, anti-establishment movement and as a successor of the Kosova Action Network (KAN) and participated in elections for the first time in 2010. The movement widely bases its ideology on the works of Ukshin Hoti. Vetëvendosje campaigns for social and political change based on the principles of equality, democracy, political freedom and social justice for every citizen. Social Democratic Party Of Kosovo
The Social Democratic Party of Kosovo ( sq, Partia Socialdemokrate e Kosovës, PSD) is a political party in Kosovo. It was established on 10 February 1990 by Kaqusha Jashari, and was the second political party to be established in the newly pluralist Kosovo. Leadership The current leader of the party is Dardan Molliqaj. He was chosen at the party's meeting on 15 December 2019. Visar Ymeri (born 11 October 1973) is a Kosovar activist, analyst and politician who served as the deputy leader of the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo. He served as the leader of the Self-Determination movement in Kosovo between 2015 and 2018. Politics Visar Ymeri was one of the leading members of Vetëvendosje, the largest party of Kosovo. Driton Çaushi (born 11 October 1978) is a politician in Kosovo. He served in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo from 2016 to 2019, initially as a member of Vetëvendosje (VV) and later with the Social Democratic Party of Kosovo (PSD). Albanian Nationalism In Kosovo
Kosovo is the birthplace of the Albanian nationalist movement which emerged as a response to the Eastern Crisis of 1878. In the immediate aftermath of the Russo-Ottoman war, the Congress of Berlin proposed partitioning Ottoman Albanian inhabited lands in the Balkans among neighbouring countries.
