Greyhawk
Greyhawk, also known as the World of Greyhawk, is a fictional world designed as a campaign setting for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' fantasy roleplaying game. Although not the first campaign world developed for ''Dungeons & Dragons''—Dave Arneson's ''Blackmoor (campaign setting), Blackmoor'' campaign predated it by over a year—the world of Greyhawk closely identified with early development of the game beginning in 1972, and after being published it remained associated with ''Dungeons & Dragons'' publications until 2008. The world itself started as a simple dungeon under a castle designed by Gary Gygax for the amusement of his children and friends, but it was rapidly expanded to include not only a complex multi-layered dungeon environment, but also the nearby city of Greyhawk, and eventually an entire world. Castle Greyhawk
Castle Greyhawk is one of the central dungeon settings in the fictional ''World of Greyhawk'' campaign setting for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' roleplaying game. The Castle was originally developed by Gary Gygax, for his own campaign and later detailed for publication. '' Castle Greyhawk'' is also the name of a 1988 ''Dungeons & Dragons'' adventure module that created a treatment of the Castle for the public to use. World Of Greyhawk Fantasy Game Setting
''The World of Greyhawk Fantasy Game Setting'' and the ''World of Greyhawk Fantasy World Setting'' are two closely related publications from TSR, Inc. that detail the fictional ''World of Greyhawk'' campaign setting for the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D'') fantasy roleplaying game. Living Greyhawk
Living Greyhawk ("LG") was a massively shared ''Dungeons & Dragons'' Living Campaigns, living campaign administered by RPGA that ran from 2000 to 2008. The campaign setting and storyline were based on Gary Gygax's Greyhawk, World of Greyhawk setting, and used the ''Dungeons and Dragons'' Third Edition (later v3.5) rules. The ''Living Greyhawk Gazetteer'' (''LGG'') is a sourcebook for the ''World of Greyhawk'' campaign setting for the 3rd edition of the ''Dungeons & Dragons'' roleplaying game. Despite the title, the ''Living Greyhawk Gazetteer'' is not exclusive to the Living Greyhawk Campaign. Gary Gygax
Ernest Gary Gygax ( ; July 27, 1938 – March 4, 2008) was an American game designer and author best known for co-creating the pioneering role-playing game ''Dungeons & Dragons'' (''D&D'') with Dave Arneson. In the 1960s, Gygax created an organization of wargaming clubs and founded the Gen Con gaming convention. In 1971, he helped develop ''Chainmail'', a miniatures wargame based on medieval warfare. He co-founded the company Tactical Studies Rules (TSR, Inc.) with childhood friend Don Kaye in 1973. The following year, he and Arneson created ''D&D'', which expanded on Gygax's ''Chainmail'' and included elements of the fantasy stories he loved as a child. Darlene Pekul
Darlene Jean Pekul (born 1954, Wisconsin), now just known as Darlene (she legally dropped her surname in 1984), is an American artist and calligrapher whose artwork appeared in early ''Dungeons & Dragons'' works published by TSR. Her best-known piece, the full-colour map of the Flanaess that accompanied the 1980 folio edition of the World of Greyhawk by Gary Gygax, was used as the basis of all subsequent Greyhawk publications and maps until Greyhawk publications were discontinued by Wizards of the Coast in 2008. Early life Darlene, the third of seven children, grew up on a farm near Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Anne K. Brown is a writer and editor in the role-playing game industry. Career Brown began working as an Assistant editor for ''Dragon'' magazine in 1989, on issues #147 to #151 (July–November 1989). She was later transferred to TSR's Games Division. The RPGA (also called the Role Playing Game Association and the RPGA Network at various times), was initially part of the organized play arm of TSR, Inc and later of Wizards of the Coast. Blackmoor is a fantasy role-playing game campaign setting generally associated with the game ''Dungeons & Dragons''. It originated in the early 1970s as the personal setting of Dave Arneson, the co-creator of ''Dungeons & Dragons'', first as a setting for Arneson's miniature wargames, then as an early testing ground for what would become ''D&D''.
