Greg Lovelady
Greg Lovelady (born January 11, 1979) is an American baseball coach. Lovelady played college baseball at Miami Hurricanes baseball, Miami (FL), where as a catcher and four-year letter winner, he won the 1999 College World Series and 2001 College World Series. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Florida Marlins organization, and played one season with the Utica Blue Sox before turning to coaching. He served three more years at Miami, working with catchers. In his seven years in Coral Gables, the Hurricanes reached five College World Series, winning two, and appeared in the Super Regional round all seven years. In 2005, Lovelady accepted an assistant coach position at Wright State. Two years later, he added associate head coach duties. With Rob Cooper's move to Penn State Nittany Lions baseball, Penn State, Lovelady was elevated to the top job. 2021 American Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament
The 2021 American Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament was held at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida from May 25 through May 30. The event, held at the end of the conference regular season, determined the champion of the American Athletic Conference for the 2021 season. The winner of the double-elimination tournament, South Florida, received the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. The Knights compete in the American Athletic Conference (The American). The Knights play their home games on UCF's main campus in Orlando, Florida at John Euliano Park, and are currently coached by head coach Greg Lovelady. The 2021 NCAA Division I baseball season play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 19, 2021. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2021 College World Series. The College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska, at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, ended on June 30, 2021. The Mississippi State Bulldogs won the tournament, and were consequently named national champions. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the start of the season was delayed one week, and some teams opted out of playing at all for the 2021 season. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by a virus, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The 2020 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 14, 2020.
