Yui (born March 26, 1987), stylized as YUI or yui, is a Japanese singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In her solo career, she sold more than 5 million physical copies in Japan. She said that she attempted to make the song sound pop-like, while trying to add a slight pizzicato which she picked up from the atmosphere of Paradise Kiss. She also said the song was one of deciding to prepare oneself, while finding answers as you mature. The single debuted atop the Oricon Weekly Single Chart, becoming her seventh number-one single. It was the first song in which Yui replaced guitar for piano. Background and writing Although it is Yui's first song in which she exchanges her guitar for a piano, it was first written using a guitar. When asked about the decision in writing the song, unsurprisingly, was in support of mothers of the world.
