Greatest Hits (Thompson Twins Album)
''Greatest Hits'' is a compilation album by British pop band Thompson Twins, released in 1996 on the Arista Records label. It is the group's first compilation of singles, the remix collection '' Greatest Mixes'' having already been released in 1988, mainly promoted by the remix "In the Name of Love '88". ''Greatest Hits'' includes all of Thompson Twins' singles from 1982 to 1987, omitting earlier minor tracks from their UK debut album, '' A Product of ... (Participation)'', and the later single "Sugar Daddy", the last mainstream hit they had in the US, taken from their unsuccessful 1989 album '' Big Trash''. Though Thompson Twins' previous album, 1987's '' Close to the Bone'', was also a flop, both singles taken from it—"Get That Love" and "Long Goodbye"—are included here. Thompson Twins' first singles collection chronologically compiles songs by the band's three different lineups (big band in the early years, three-piece group from 1983 to 1987, and duo in the later ...

Sadkin produced the album including "Love On Your Side". The original lyrics were written by Alannah Currie, but were later altered to that of a male perspective, as Currie wasn't the lead singer. Tom Bailey has said of the song: "it's actually a complicated and quite dark song. It's about discovering that your girlfriend or boyfriend wants to experiment with a relationship in a much deeper or broader sense than you were prepared to do. And so it drags you into this kind of helpless feeling of being lost, helplessly in love, but taking some kind of confidence from the fact that lo ...

Duo (music)
A duet is a musical composition for two performers in which the performers have equal importance to the piece, often a composition involving two singers or two pianists. It differs from a harmony, as the performers take turns performing a solo section rather than performing simultaneously. A piece performed by two pianists performing together on the same piano is a "piano duet" or "piano four hands". A piece for two pianists performing together on separate pianos is a " piano duo". The term ''duet'' is also used as a verb for the act of performing a musical duet, or colloquially as a noun to refer to the performers of a duet. A musical ensemble with more than two solo instruments or voices is called trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, septet, octet, etc. History When Mozart was young, he and his sister Marianne played a duet of his composition at a London concert in 1765. Big Band
A big band or jazz orchestra is a type of musical ensemble of jazz music that usually consists of ten or more musicians with four sections: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. Big bands originated during the early 1910s and dominated jazz in the early 1940s when swing was most popular. The term "big band" is also used to describe a genre of music, although this was not the only style of music played by big bands. Big bands started as accompaniment for dancing. In contrast to the typical jazz emphasis on improvisation, big bands relied on written compositions and arrangements. They gave a greater role to bandleaders, arrangers, and sections of instruments rather than soloists. Instruments Big bands generally have four sections: trumpets, trombones, saxophones, and a rhythm section of guitar, piano, double bass, and drums. The division in early big bands, from the 1920s to 1930s, was typically two or three trumpets, one or two trombones, three or four saxo ...
