Greater Accra Regional Minister
The Greater Accra Regional Minister is the Ghana government official who is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The region was initially an administrative district within the Eastern Region of Ghana. The region was formally created by law in July 1982 by Provisional National Defence Council government through the Greater Accra Region Law (PNDCL 26) as a legally separate region. Currently, the southern boundary of the Greater Accra Region is the Atlantic Ocean. To the east is the Volta Region, Central Region to the west and the Eastern Region to the north. There are currently sixteen administrative regions in Ghana. Supreme Military Council (Ghana)
The Supreme Military Council (SMC) was the ruling government of Ghana from 9 October 1975 to 4 June 1979. Its chairman was Colonel I.K. Acheampong. He was also the Head of state of Ghana due to his chairmanship. SMC I and II The period of the SMC can be divided into two eras. Daniel Ohene Agyekum (born 10 March 1942) is a Ghanaian diplomat and politician who is member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who served as the former Ambassador to the United States of America during the John Evans Atta Mills government between 2009 and 2013. He has served as Regional Minister for Eastern, Ashanti and Greater Accra regions in the past. He also served as Minister of state in charge of Chieftaincy and State Protocol during the Jerry John Rawlings Government from 2000 to 2001. Joshua Alabi
Joshua Alabi (born 1 March 1958) is a Ghanaian academic and politician, who served as the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) from 2012 to 2016. He previously served as the Rector of the same institution from 2009 to 2012 and Pro-Rector from 2005 to 2008. In Ghanaian politics, Alabi was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Krowor Constituency in the Greater Accra from 1997 to 2001 and Minister of State for the Greater Accra and the Northern Regions respectively from 1997 to 2001. National Democratic Congress (Ghana)
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001. The NDC lost the presidency in the 2000 election, and it was not until the 2008 election, that they regained it with John Atta Mills as its candidate. Michael Afedi Gizo (born March 10, 1946) is a Ghanaian politician. He is a former member of the 3rd parliament of the 4th Republic of Ghana. He represented the Dangme West which is now Shai-Osudoku constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
