Grazia Verasani
Grazia Verasani (born July 8, 1964, Bologna, Italy) is an Italian writer and singer-songwriter. The author of novels, plays, and screenplays she is a musician who composes, performs, and records. Biography She graduated from the Accademia Nazionale di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico in Rome at the age of twenty. After some work with the Teatro Stabile d'Abruzzo and with the Teatro Stabile di Torino, she began writing, while continuing her work as an actor. She has written five crime novels featuring the PI Giorgia Cantini, a private investigator in Bologna. The first, published in 2004, ''Quo Vadis, Baby?'' was made into a film the following year by Oscar-winning film maker Gabriele Salvatores. A TV series soon followed. Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico (translation: Silvio d'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts) is a national drama school in Rome, Italy. Founded in 1936 by the theatrical theorist, critic, and writer Silvio D'Amico, the academy is the only state school for the training of actors and directors. Funded jointly by the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Academy grants academic degrees equivalent to Bachelor of Arts as well as master's degrees. Teatro Stabile D'Abruzzo
Teatro Stabile d'Abruzzo (TSA) is a theatre based in L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy which was formed in 2000. Directed by Alessandro D'Alatri today, the theatre has performed at many major Italian festivals, including the Venice Biennale, the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, the Festival del Teatro di San Miniato, and at numerous theatrical festivals in Vicenza and Verona. Tonino Guerra
Antonio "Tonino" Guerra (16 March 1920 – 21 March 2012) was an Italian poet, writer and screenwriter who collaborated with some of the most prominent film directors in the world. Life and work Guerra was born in Santarcangelo di Romagna. According to his obituary in ''The Guardian'', Guerra first started writing poetry when interned in a prison camp in Germany, after being rounded up at the age of 22 with other antifascists from Santarcangelo. At 30 he moved to Rome and worked as a schoolteacher. During this time he met Elio Petri, the future director of ''Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion'' (1970), who worked as assistant to Giuseppe De Santis. Guerra was able to get his first screenwriting credit after he and Petri went to the Abruzzi mountains to find out about wolf-hunting; "Though they discovered that wolf hunters no longer existed, De Santis went ahead anyway with the film, ''Uomini e Lupi'' (Men and Wolves, 1957)".
