Gratitude, thankfulness, or gratefulness is from the Latin word ''gratus,'' which means "pleasing" or "thankful." Is regarded as a feeling of appreciation (or similar positive response) by a recipient of another's kindness. This can be gifts, help, favors, or another form of generosity to another person. The absence of gratitude where gratitude is expected is called ingratitude or ungratefulness. Historically, gratitude has been a part of several world religions. It also has been a topic of interest to ancient, medieval, and modern philosophers. The systematic study of gratitude within the field of psychology began in 1998 when Martin Seligman introduced a new branch of psychology that he termed positive psychology. ''The Music from Matthew Barney's Drawing Restraint 9'' is the second soundtrack album by Björk, released on 25 July 2005 in the UK and on 23 August 2005 in the US. It was composed for Matthew Barney for his film of the same title. The album was re-released in 2006 as a DualDisc including new DTS 96/24 5.1-channel surround sound mixes on the DVD-audio side, plus the extra track "Petrolatum". The DualDisc also formed part of the '' Surrounded'' box set. Background For the composing of the soundtrack, Björk traveled to Japan to study ancient Japanese music. Several tracks are made with the sound of the shō, a Japanese instrument which contains 16 various reeds; Mayumi Miyata plays the shō on multiple compositions in the soundtrack and appears in the film playing the instrument. Gratitude Bulelani Magwanishe (born 20 Jan 1973) is a South African politician and lawyer, who is the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services. He is a former Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry and has been a member of parliament for the African National Congress since 1999. Early political career Gratitude Bulelani Magwanishe served on the branch, regional and provincial structures of the ANC Youth League between 1991 and 2004. He represented Tsakane Youth Congress in the Conference for the democratic future in 1989. He was appointed to serve as a member of the Regional Interim Leadership Core of the African National Congress, after the dissolution of the Regional Leadership of Ekurhuleni by the Provincial Executive Committee of Gauteng from 2010 until 2011. The Gratitude Fund is a non-profit organization in New York which provide assistance to the forgotten heroes and veterans of the active struggle for freedom and human rights in the former USSR such as ex-political prisoners, who were imprisoned for many years, and to the families of dissidents who perished in the Soviet prisons. Yuri Fedorov founded the Fund in 1998 and served as its president until he passed away in September 2022. ''So-Lo'' is the debut studio album by American musician Danny Elfman, released in 1984 by MCA Records. Recorded primarily by Elfman, but also featuring the members of his band, Oingo Boingo, it was recorded when Elfman was offered a solo contract with MCA after the band had been dropped from I.R.S. Records. The album marked the band's last release to feature bassist Kerry Hatch and keyboardist Richard Gibbs. Background ''So-Lo'' was produced during a hiatus for Oingo Boingo, following the departure of Hatch and Gibbs. Gratitude was an American alternative rock band that existed from 2003 to 2005. History Gratitude was formed in 2003 by Mark Weinberg (originally of the band Crumb) and Thomas Becker (originally of the Get Up Kids). Initially called the Collision, the band was joined by Bob Lindsey on bass and Robby Cronholm (also formerly of Crumb) on vocals. After touring in 2002 with New End Original, which featured Far alum Jonah Matranga and Jeremy Tappero, Cronholm left the band and was replaced by Matranga. When Matranga joined, the band changed their name from the Collision to Gratitude. After picking up Matranga and changing their name, Gratitude signed to Atlantic Records.
