Gratitude (P-Money Album)
''Gratitude'' is the fourth studio album by New Zealand record producer P-Money. It was released on 17 May 2013 through Dawn Raid Entertainment, Dirty Records and Duck Down Music. It features guest appearances from Nicole Wray, Aaradhna, At Peace, Blaison Maven, Buckshot, Buff1, Fashawn, Freddie Gibbs, Havoc, Like, MiBBs, Monsta G, M.O.P., Roc Marciano, Skyzoo, STS and Talib Kweli. The album peaked at number twenty-three on the Official New Zealand Music Chart dated 27 May 2013. The following week it moved to number thirty-seven, and then fell off the chart. It has been nominated for Best Urban/Hip Hop Album at the 2013 New Zealand Music Awards, but lost to Aaradhna's ''Treble & Reverb''. P-Money
Peter Wadams, better known by his stage name P-Money, is a New Zealand hip-hop DJ and producer. One of his best-known works is "Everything", featuring New Zealand R&B singer Vince Harder, which reached number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart for three weeks in 2008; however, he is probably best known for his recordings with Scribe, including the 2003 smash hit "Not Many". Peter Wadams is also credited as co-writer and producer on the 2017 hit " Call on Me" by Australian singer Starley. Career P-Money's initial entry into the music industry was via DJ competitions and student radio. Gabriel Stevenson, professionally known as Like, is an American record producer, rapper, DJ and songwriter. A three time Grammy nominee, he began working with the Pacific Division, a hip hop trio, better known as Pac Div in 2006. The 2013 New Zealand Music Awards is the 48th holding of the annual ceremony featuring awards for musical recording artists based in or originating from New Zealand. Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Soul/RnB Artist are two Aotearoa Music Awards that honour New Zealand music artists for outstanding recordings of the genres of hip hop, and soul or R&B. The award was first awarded in 2002 as Best R&B/Hip Hop Album, and in 2003 it was called Best Urban Album. In 2004 it moved to Best Urban/Hip Hop Album. In 2017 the award was split into two separate awards: Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Soul/RnB Artist. The entry criteria were also changed to require either an album or a minimum of five single releases in the eligibility period. Controversy In 2016, the award was presented to Aaradhna her album ''Brown Girl''. She refused to accept the award, saying she felt the inclusion of both R&B music and hip hop in the same "urban" category was due to racial stereotyping and that she felt as a pop/R&B artist, she shouldn't be in the same category as hip hop acts. The Official New Zealand Music Chart ( mi, Te Papa Tātai Waiata Matua o Aotearoa) is the weekly New Zealand top 40 singles and albums charts, issued weekly by Recorded Music NZ (formerly Recording Industry Association of New Zealand). The Music Chart also includes the top-20 New Zealand artist singles and albums and top 10 compilation albums.
