Gowanbrae is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Merri-bek local government area. Gowanbrae recorded a population of 2,971 at the 2021 census. Gowanbrae is bounded by the Western Ring Road in the north and west, the Tullamarine Freeway in the west, the Albion-Jacana railway line in the south and Moonee Ponds Creek in the east. It is the City of Merri-bek's newest suburb, with residential development started in the 1990s and continuing. __NOTOC__ The Moonee Ponds Creek Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians, which follows the Moonee Ponds Creek through the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. History A public meeting called by State Member of Parliament for Pascoe Vale, Kelvin Thompson in 1989 to discuss future of Moonee Ponds Creek's future, was attended by more than 50 people and indicated active community investment in its protection and improvement. The meeting formed the Moonee Ponds Creek Association as a coordinating body for five municipal councils and three Government departments. Melbourne Water managed the plan. Jacana Railway Station
Jacana railway station is located on the Craigieburn line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the northern Melbourne suburb of Glenroy, and opened on 15 February 1959. The North East standard gauge line is located to the west of the station, crossing the broad gauge suburban lines via a flyover at the Craigieburn ( down) end of the station.
