Govinda Bahadur Malla
Govinda Bahadur Malla “Gothale“ (Nepali:गोविन्द बहादुर मल्ल “गोठाले”; 1922–2010) was a writer of Nepal. He is most well known for his novel ''Pallo Gharko Jhyal''. He was awarded with Jagadamba Shree Puraskar in 2055 BS () for his contribution to Nepalese literature. Biography He was born on 12 July 1922 (29 Ashadh 1979 BS) to father Riddhi Bahadur Malla and mother Ananda Maya Malla in Kathmandu. He was schooled in Benaras, India followed by Durbar High School and Tri-Chandra College. He studied up to I.Sc. His works have been awarded multiple times. Some of his works are also a part of the curriculum in Nepali schools. He stopped writing after 1964. His brother Bijaya Malla is also a writer. Works ''Mamata'', a collection of poems, written in 1992 BS was his first publication. The most popular work of Malla is ''Pallo Ghar ko Jhyal'', a novel. Jagadamba Shree Puraskar () is an award given for contribution to Nepali Language, Literature, Art and Folk Culture Field. It is awarded to a person or an organization who has contributed in the field of Nepali language, literature, art or folk culture fields. It is presented alongside Madan Puraskar by Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya, on the day of Ghatasthapana; the first day of Dashain festival. History It is named after Rani Jagadamba Kumari Devi, the wife of General Madan Shumsher JBR an daughter in law of Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher JBR. It was established in 1989 (2045 BS) in Nepal. Pahalman Singh Swar
Pahalman Singh Swar () was a Nepalese dramatist. He is best known for his play called ''Atal Bahadur'' which was published in 1905. Early life He was born in November, 1878 in Ridikot, Achham District, Nepal to father Laxmi Singh Swar and mother Deekura Devi. Due to the lack of formal education in Accham during that period, Swar was taught Nepali and Sanskrit texts at home. He also read books in English and Hindi languages. His father was a government contractor and he incurred a major loss in 1895. When the then prime minister of Nepal decreed that every contractor should pay fifty thousand rupees to their share of contract, his father discontinued the work. His father and his elder brother were subsequently arrested and their housed was seized by the government. He then fled to India and took refuge in a place called Singahi under the care of Queen Surat Kumari. There he founded L.P. Swaar Company, a clothes trading business. Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus, more colloquially known as Tri-Chandra College, is a constituent campus of Tribhuvan University located in Ghantaghar, Kathmandu. Durbar High School
Durbar High School () or Bhanu Higher Secondary School, opened in 1854 is the oldest modern school in Nepal located near Rani Pokhari, Kathmandu. The school was originally built to teach sons of Ranas exclusively but was opened to public citizens in 1901 by Dev Shumsher Jang Bahadur Rana. At first, Rana children were given education at Thapathali Durbar but later Jung Bahadur Rana moved it into its own building at Ranipokhari, Kathmandu. Some parts of the school were destroyed in the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. The school was rebuilt under the Chinese Aid.
