Kamla Beniwal
Kamla Beniwal (born 12 January 1927) is an Indian politician. She was a senior member of Indian National Congress party. She served as a minister on different posts and Deputy Chief Minister during different time in Rajasthan. Later she served as Governor of different Indian states between 2009 and 2014. She became the first woman minister in Rajasthan in 1954 at the age of 27. She served as Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan in 2003. She also served as governor of Tripura (2009), Gujarat (2009-2014) and Mizoram (2014). She has been the first ever woman Governor of any northeastern state. The governors of the states of India have similar powers and functions at the state level as those of the president of India at the central level. Governors exist in the states, while lieutenant governors exist in union territories including the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. The governor acts as the nominal head whereas the real power lies with the chief ministers of the states and his or her councils of ministers. Although, in union territories, the real power lies with the lieutenant governor or administrator, except in the NCT of Delhi and Puducherry, where the governor shares power with a council of ministers headed by a chief minister. Tripura (, Bengali: ) is a state in Northeast India. The third-smallest state in the country, it covers ; and the seventh-least populous state with a population of 36.71 lakh ( 3.67 million). It is bordered by Assam and Mizoram to the east and by Bangladesh to the north, south and west. Ramesh Bais (born 2 August 1947) is an Indian politician who has served as the 10th Governor of Jharkhand since July 2021. He also served as the 18th Governor of Tripura in July 2019 to July 2021. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he had served as a Union Minister of State (Independent charge) for Environment and Forests in Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government from 1999. Kaptan Singh Solanki (born 1 July 1939) is an Indian politician of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the 17th Governor of Tripura. Tathagata Roy (born 14 September 1945) is an Indian politician who served as the Governor of Tripura from 2015 to 2018 and the Governor of Meghalaya from August 2018 to the end of his term in August 2020. He was the 6th president of West Bengal state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party from 2002 to 2006 and a member of the BJP National Executive from 2002 until 2015. Devanand Konwar (1934 – 25 April 2020) was a senior congressman from Assam who served as the Governor of the Indian states of Tripura, Bihar and West Bengal.
