Gosick
is a Japanese light novel series written by Kazuki Sakuraba, with illustrations by Hinata Takeda. The series includes 13 novels published by Fujimi Shobo between December 2003 and July 2011. Set in a fictional European country in 1924, a Japanese exchange student meets a mysterious, brilliant girl who only leaves the library to sleep. Her brother, a detective, relies on her exceptional mind to solve difficult mysteries. Tokyopop released the first two novels in English in North America. A manga adaptation drawn by Sakuya Amano was serialized in Fujimi Shobo's ''Monthly Dragon Age'' magazine. A 24-episode anime adaptation by Bones aired between January and July 2011. A collection of side stories titled ''GosickS'' was published between 2005 and 2011, while a sequel novel series named ''Gosick New Continent'' was released in between 2013 and 2016. Kazuki Sakuraba
is a Japanese author of novels and light novels, and Naoki Prize winner. Biography Sakuraba was born in Shimane Prefecture on the 26th of July 1971. She, however, grew up in Yonago, Tottori Prefecture. She started writing novels when she was in the fourth or fifth grade of elementary school. In the library, Sakuraba often met a girl who she befriended that was writing something like a novel, so she decided to do the same, writing her first novel in her notebook. During her junior and senior high school years, Sakuraba skipped classes and cram school to read books. She states that she was seemingly unable to and hated studying. She graduated from Yonago Higashi High School and moved to Tokyo for university. During university, she repeatedly tried but failed to write anything substantial. Hinata Takeda
was a Japanese manga artist. Her notable works include ''Yaeka no Karute'', ''Croisée in a Foreign Labyrinth'', and ''Gosick''. Takeda has a sister named Enaga Senno, who is an illustrator and is four years younger. In January 2017, she died due to illness. Hitoshi Nanba
is a Japanese anime director. Nanba started working in the anime industry in 1982 and directed his first full series in 1989. Since then, some of the series he has directed include ''Heroman'', ''Gosick'', and ''Golden Kamuy''. Biography Hitoshi Nanba was born in Niigata Prefecture. is a Japanese anime television network owned by AT-X, Inc. was founded on June 26, 2000 as a subsidiary of TV Tokyo Medianet, which is (in turn) owned by TV Tokyo. is a Japanese screenwriter, director and manga artist. She is one of the most prolific writers currently working in the anime industry. She won the 16th Animation Kobe Award. Personal life Okada was born in Chichibu. She was often bullied at school and skipped days to deal with social anxiety. After leaving middle school, she would spend most of her time confined at home. In spite of this, her proficiency at writing helped to get her into high school, although her social anxiety remained a problem.
