Gordon is an unincorporated community in Manitoba, Canada, within the Rural Municipality of Rosser. The community is centred on PTH 6, approximately north-west of Winnipeg and south-east of Grosse Isle. It is named for James Gordon, who was in charge of leases in the General Manager's Office of the Canadian National Railway. History The railway point on the CNR Oak Point subdivision, operated by the Canadian National Railway, was established in 1905. In 1928, a grain elevator was built by Manitoba Pool Elevators Manitoba Pool Elevators was a grain trade company founded in 1924. It became a subsidiary of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool until November 1932, when the Pool declared bankruptcy. In 1998 Alberta Wheat Pool and Manitoba Pool Elevators merged to for .... James Bezan
James Bezan (born May 19, 1965) is a Conservative Canadian politician who has represented the riding of Selkirk—Interlake—Eastman (formerly Selkirk—Interlake) in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. He is currently the Conservative Shadow Minister for National Defence. Early life and career Bezan was born May 19, 1965 in Russell, Manitoba Bezan majored in livestock technology in Olds College's Agricultural Production program. Bezan worked in the livestock and cattle industries in the 1980s and 1990s, and started his own company in 1996. Lakeside (electoral District)
Lakeside is a provincial electoral division in Manitoba, Canada. It is located to the immediate northwest of the city of Winnipeg. Traditionally a rural riding, Lakeside has become more urban in recent years (as a result of both electoral redistribution and changes in demography). All the same, agriculture accounted for 17 per cent of the riding's industry in 1999. The riding is bordered to the north by Interlake, to the west by Portage la Prairie, to the south by Morris and to the east by Gimli. It also borders the city of Winnipeg to the southeast. Ralph Eichler (born March 23, 1950) is a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He is a member of Manitoba legislature for the riding of Lakeside (Manitoba riding), Lakeside. Before entering politics, Eichler served for eight years as the administrator of the Interlake School Division. He also owned and operated ''Prairie Farm Ranch Supply'', an exporter of livestock handling equipment. In the latter capacity, he oversaw the invention of a device known as "The Stockdoctor", now used internationally. Rosser is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Manitoba, lying adjacent to the northwest side of Winnipeg and part of the Winnipeg Metro Region. Its population as of the 2016 Census was 1,372. It is situated along Provincial Trunk Highway 6, and Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway. CentrePort Canada lies primarily in the eastern part of the RM, inside the Perimeter Highway. A small portion of Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport also lies within the RM of Rosser. Water services are provided by the Cartier Regional Water Cooperative. Provincial Trunk Highway 6 (PTH 6) is a provincial primary highway located in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It runs from the Perimeter Highway of Winnipeg to the Thompson south city limits. It is also the main highway connecting Winnipeg to northern Manitoba. The speed limit is 100 km/h. The route is also used to deliver nickel from the Thompson mine to the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg. The portion of the highway between Ponton and Thompson was known as Highway 391 prior to 1986. There have been talks of extending PTH 6 further north from Thompson to Churchill and the Nunavut border.
