''Good Luck, Gentlemen'' (russian: Удачи вам, господа!) is a 1992 Russian comedy-drama film directed by Vladimir Bortko. Plot Oleg goes to St. Petersburg with the hope of getting a good job and housing, but instead finds refuge in a forest in which former army captains majors live in tanks and his friend is engaged in private business. Vladimir Vladimirovich Bortko (russian: Владимир Владимирович Бортко; born 7 May 1946) is a Russian film director, screenwriter, producer and politician. He was a member of the State Duma between 2011 and 2021, and was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia. Biography Vladimir Bortko was born 7 May 1946 in Moscow. He grew up in the family of the Ukrainian Soviet playwright Oleksandr Korniychuk. After his studies in the ''Geological College'' in Kyiv and his military service in 1965-1966, he worked three years as an electrical engineer in Kyiv. Nikolai Petrovich Karachentsov (russian: Николай Петрович Караченцов, 27 October 1944 – 26 October 2018) was a Soviet and Russian film and stage actor of Lenkom Theatre. Karachentsov's popularity peaked in the late 1970s and early 1980s among the Soviet youth after he had starred in rock operas. In 1989 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR.
