Golubovci ( cnr, Голубовци, ) is a small town in the Podgorica Municipality of Montenegro. It has 3,110 residents according to 2011 census, while the ''Golubovci City Municipality'' accounts for some 16,093 residents. Transport Sometimes Podgorica Airport is referred as to Golubovci Airport by locals, the airport being just 5 km away from the town. Golubovci is located next to the M-2, Podgorica - Bar road ( E65/ E80), main Montenegrin road connection between the coast and northern part of the country. Part of this road went through the centre of Golubovci causing frequent traffic jams during the summer tourist season which led to construction of 4-lane dual carriageway, the Golubovci Bypass, in 2018. Sports The town is home to FK Zeta, one of the most successful Montenegrin football clubs in recent years. They play their home games at the Stadion Trešnjica. FK Zeta is a football club from Golubovci, a suburb of Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. It plays in the Montenegrin Second League. The club was the inaugural champion of the Montenegrin First League in 2006–07 season. History Period 1927-1997 The club was formed in 1927 under the name ''FK Danica''. During the first decades, they played only non-league matches. From 194g, the club played under the name ''FK Napredak'', and since 1955, the team is playing under the name ''FK Zeta''. Until the start of seventies, FK Zeta played at lowest-rank competitions. First significant success, team from Golubovci made at season 1971–72 with promotion to Montenegrin Republic League. Trešnjica Stadium is a football stadium in Golubovci (Zeta Plain), Podgorica, Montenegro. It is used for football matches and is the home ground of FK Zeta. History The football stadium at Trešnica location, at Golubovci, was built in 1996, following the season in which FK Zeta gained its first promotion to the Yugoslav Second League. Until now, the stadium was renovated a few times (last time in 2016) and near the main ground is built another pitch with artificial turf. M-2 Highway (Montenegro)
The M-2 highway ( cnr, Magistralni put M-2, script=Latn) is a Montenegrin roadway. The M-2 highway is the oldest and most important connection between the coastal region and the North of Montenegro. It goes from Petrovac na Moru in Budva Municipality, through the capital city of Podgorica, and the towns of Kolašin and Mojkovac, to the border of Serbia north of Bijelo Polje. In 2016, the highway was shortened, and its route changed. The road is considered to be the "backbone of the Montenegrin road network". Most notorious part of this road is Platije Canyon, where more than 1200 people have lost their lives.
