Giuseppe Astarita
Giuseppe Astarita (Naples, 1707 – Naples, 1775) was an Italian architect and engineer of the late- Baroque or Rococo period. He was a pupil of Domenico Antonio Vaccaro and collaborated with Ferdinando Sanfelice; his style is influenced by Guarino Guarini. San Raffaele (also known as San Raffaele a Materdei or properly, Santi Raffaele e Margherita da Cortona) is a church on Via Amato di Montecassino, in the quartiere of Materdei in Naples, Italy. San Paolo Maggiore, Naples
San Paolo Maggiore is a basilica church in Naples, southern Italy, and the burial place of Gaetano Thiene, known as Saint Cajetan, founder of the Order of Clerics Regular (or Theatines). It is located on Piazza Gaetano, about 1-2 blocks north of Via dei Tribunali. History The Baroque style church is located on the site of the 1st-century temple of the Dioscuri. The church was built upon the ruins of that temple. The church occupied the area behind the temple's pronaos. The front section of the latter, including six columns and triangular tympanum, was visible until 1688, when it was destroyed by an earthquake. The current church includes two corinthian columns from the ancient edifice. They stand awkwardly in front, linked by a fragile beam projecting from the facade. Gesù Nuovo
Gesù Nuovo ( it, New Jesus) is the name of a church and a square in Naples, Italy. They are located just outside the western boundary of the historic center of the city. To the southeast of the spire, one can see a block away the Fountain of Monteoliveto and the piazza of the church of Sant'Anna dei Lombardi. Sessa Aurunca is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Caserta, Campania, southern Italy. Sant'Anna a Capuana is a church located on the piazza of the same name in Naples, Italy. The church was founded in the 16th century near the former city gate at Porta Capuana, as a small chapel for the monks of the Convent of San Francesco di Paola. Construction of the present structure dates from 1751, a design by Giuseppe Astarita. The interior has a raised altar reached by a double ramp stairwell.
