Giovanni Battista Paggi
Giovanni Battista Paggi (27 February 1554 – 12 March 1627) was an Italian painter, sculptor, and writer. His style spans the Late-Renaissance and early-Baroque. Life He was born in Genoa into the well-to-do family of his father Pellegrino. In an apparent dispute over pay, he is said to have mortally wounded a patron, and was forced to flee Genoa in 1579, and take refuge in Tuscany, in the towns of Aulla sul Magra, then Pisa, and finally to Florence. He joined the ''Accademia e Compagnia delle Arti del Disegno'' in 1568. He shared a studio in Florence with Federico Zuccari. Luciano Borzone
Luciano Borzone (1590 – 12 July 1645) was an Italian people, Italian painter of a late-Mannerism, Mannerist and early-Baroque styles active mainly in his natal city of Genoa. Biography After an apprenticeship with Filippo Bertolotto, his uncle, the Duke Alberigo of Massa Lunigiana patronized his work as a pupil of Cesare Corte. He was a prominent portrait painter. In Genoa, he painted the ''Presentation in the Temple'' for the church of San Domenico, Genoa, San Domenico, and the ''Baptism of Christ'' for the church of Santo Spirito. Supposedly died from a fall from scaffolding while painting a picture of a ''Nativity'' for ceiling of the Basilica della Santissima Annunziata del Vastato, Nunziata del Vastato.R. Soprani p. 252. Dulwich Picture Gallery is an art gallery in Dulwich, South London, which opened to the public in 1817. It was designed by Regency architect Sir John Soane using an innovative and influential method of illumination. Lucca Cathedral ( it, Duomo di Lucca, Cattedrale di San Martino) is a Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to Saint Martin of Tours in Lucca, Italy. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Lucca. The Basilica della Santissima Annunziata del Vastato is the Catholic cathedral of Genoa, northern Italy; its decoration employed the major baroque studios and artists in Genoa in the 17th century. It is named ''Vastato'' because the area where it was built was outside the walls of the city, in an area where houses had been demolished (devastated) for defensive reasons. Santa Maria Novella is a church in Florence, Italy, situated opposite, and lending its name to, the city's main railway station. Chronologically, it is the first great basilica in Florence, and is the city's principal Dominican church. Luca Cambiaso (also known as Luca Cambiasi and Luca Cangiagio (being ''Cangiaxo'' the surname in Ligurian); 18 November 1527 – 6 September 1585) was an Italian painter and draughtsman and the leading artist in Genoa in the 16th century.
