Giancarlo Parabulà Equatión Viedía Meo is an Italian record producer and entrepreneur. He started his career very young, contributing to the Italo disco scene. He founded Banana Records yielding successful artists like Easy Going and Vivien Vee. He also produced ''Gioca Jouer'', the title song of the Sanremo Music Festival 1981. Italo Disco
Italo disco (variously capitalized, and sometimes hyphenated as Italo-disco) is a music genre which originated in Italy in the late 1970s and was mainly produced in the early 1980s. Italo disco evolved from the then-current underground dance, pop, and electronic music, both domestic and foreign (American hi-NRG, French Euro disco) and developed into a diverse genre. The genre employs electronic drums, drum machines, synthesizers, and occasionally vocoders. It is usually sung in English, and to a lesser extent in Italian and Spanish. The origin of the genre's name is strongly tied to marketing efforts of the ZYX record label, which began licensing and marketing the music outside Italy in 1982. Viviana Andreattini (born 2 May 1960), known under the stage name of Vivien Vee, is a retired Italian singer. Life and career Born in Trieste, Vee debuted in 1979 as an electronic disco project produced by Claudio Simonetti and Giancarlo Meo. Her song "Give Me a Break" became a minor hit in the American dance charts. The song "Higher" peaked at No. 36 in the Italian Chart. The Sanremo Music Festival 1981 ( it, Festival di Sanremo 1981), officially the 31st Italian Song Festival (), was the 31st annual Sanremo Music Festival, held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia between 5 and 7 February 1981 and broadcast by Rai 1. The show was hosted by Claudio Cecchetto, assisted by the actress Eleonora Vallone and by the singer Nilla Pizzi (two times winner of the Festival). Lùnapop was an Italian pop rock music group active between 1999 and 2001. Lùnapop released its lone full length Italian language album, ''...Squérez?'', in 1999. The album quickly became a commercial success, with the single "50 special", hitting the number one spot in the Italian charts in 1999, and ''...Squérez?'' being the third-best selling album in Italy in 2000. The band won awards as Italy's best band, best album, and best newcomer in 2000. Paula Mitrache (born 14 June 1977), known by the stage name Haiducii (), is a Romanian-Italian singer, model and actress. She released her debut single "Dragostea din tei" in 2004, a cover of O-Zone's homonymous single of the previous year. A copyright infringement lawsuit followed on the matter and resulted in Haiducii paying fees for this confirmed charge. Aventura is an American bachata group formed in The Bronx, New York. With the lineup always consisting of the members Romeo Santos, Henry Santos, Lenny Santos (Len Melody), and Max Santos (Max Agende), they are regarded as one of the most influential Latin groups of all time. All of the members are of Dominican descent, although Romeo is also half Puerto Rican on his mother's side.
