Giampiero De Carli
Giampiero de Carli (born 17 March 1970, in Rome) is a former Italian rugby union player and a current coach. He played as a prop. De Carli played for Rugby Roma Olimpic, from 1989/90 to 1996/97. He spend a season at Amatori Rugby Milano (1997/98), returning then to Roma Olimpic for another season. He would represent Stade Français for 1999/2000, winning the French Championship. He played then once more for Roma Olimpic (2000/01) and for Rugby Calvisano, from 2001/02 to 2005/06, where he finished his career. He won the Italian Championship in 2004/05 and the Cup of Italy in 2003/04. De Carli had 32 caps for Italy, from 1996 to 2003, scoring 5 tries, 25 points in aggregate. He was called for the 1999 Rugby World Cup but never played. Rugby Roma Olimpic
The Rugby Roma Olimpic Club 1930 is an Italian rugby union team, based in Rome. The club won 5 Italian titles, in 1935, 1937, 1948, 1949 and 2000, the Coppa Italia in 1998 and competed in 58 editions of the Italian top tier championship (now, the Top12) from his foundation in 1930 as Rugby Roma. From 1969 to 2011 Rugby Roma's home ground was the Stadio Tre Fontane, located in the Roman South-western suburb of EUR. In the last 2010–11 Excellence season Rugby Roma Olimpic's head coaches were Danie de Villiers and Jaco Stoumann led the team to conquer the Excellence Trophy. In 2011 the club is disbanded. In the same year the name is changed to Rugby Roma Olimpic 1930, but without participating in any league. Amatori Rugby Milano
Amatori Rugby Milano were an Italian rugby union team based in Milan founded in 1927 and disbanded in 2011. Founded in 1927 as part of the football team Ambrosiana-Inter of Milan, the club won the first ever Italian championship in 1929 and ever since have won 18 domestic championships that made them Italy's most titled rugby union team. The club members named themselves Amatori Rugby Milano as soon as Ambrosiana-Inter dropped their rugby union branch in 1929. Between 1993 and 1997 Amatori Milano was part of the A.C. Milan sport club under the ownership of Silvio Berlusconi and won 4 domestic championships. When Berlusconi dropped the sport club to keep the football team only Amatori folded and in 1998 the senior team and the sports title were sold to Calvisano. They were founded in 1970 by a group of players: Tonino Montanari, Gianluigi Vaccari and Alfredo Gavazzi. 1999 Rugby World Cup
The 1999 Rugby World Cup was the fourth Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial international rugby union championship. It was principally hosted by Wales, and was won by Australia. This was the first Rugby World Cup to be held in the sport's professional era. Although the majority of matches were played outside Wales (shared between England, France, Scotland and Ireland) the opening ceremony, the first match and the final were held in Cardiff.
