Mohamed El Ghanem
Dr. Mohamed El Ghanem is an Egyptian refugee detained without charge for seven years by the Geneva judiciary, between 2007 through 2013, allegedly in retaliation for refusing to spy on Geneva's Muslim community leaders. Dr. El Ghanem was released shortly after the Swiss Supreme Court ruled his detention wrongful, requiring he be released in October 2013. Dr. El Ghanem was released, but remains in a different custody (2022), based on allegations made without his presence. Suffering the effects of his wrongful confinement, he fired his own lawyers, and his situation remains principally unresolved. Shukri Ghanem
Shukri Mohammed Ghanem ( ar, شكري محمد إمحمد غانم 9 October 1942 – 29 April 2012) was a Libyan politician who was the General Secretary of the General People's Committee of Libya (prime minister) from June 2003 until March 2006 when, in the first major government re-shuffle in over a decade, he was replaced by his deputy, Baghdadi Mahmudi. Ghanem subsequently served as the Minister of Oil until 2011. On 29 April 2012, his body was found floating on the New Danube, Vienna. Early in the Libyan Civil War he reportedly "fled", but after the city of Ra's Lanuf was recaptured by pro-government forces, AP reported on 13 March that he asked Eni SpA for help with putting out a fire at the Ra's Lanuf Refinery. Samir Yousef Ghanem ( ar, سمير يوسف غانم; 15 January 1937 – 20 May 2021) was an Egyptian comedian, singer, and entertainer. Career Ghanem was born in al-ʿAtawlah, Asyut Governorate. He earned a bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Alexandria University. He was a member of the stand-up comedy trio Tholathy Adwa'a El Masrah alongside George Sidhom and El Deif Ahmed. Their debut was ''Doctor Save Me'', a short performance that introduced them to the entertainment world. They presented the first ever TV show ''Ramadan Riddles''. Iskandar Ghanem
Iskandar Ghanem (, 1911–2005) was a Lebanese army general who was the commander-in-chief of the Lebanese army in the period from 1971 to 1976. He was close to Suleiman Frangieh and held the post during his presidency. Biography Ghanem was born in Saghbine, West Bekaa, in 1911 and hailed from a Maronite family. He was dismissed from the Lebanese army, but he rejoined the army on 24 July 1971 when he was promoted to the rank of general and appointed commander-in-chief of the army. Ghanem replaced Jean Njeim in the post who died in a helicopter crash on 24 July 1975. In May 1975 Ghanem was also named minister of national defense and minister of electrical and hydraulic resources in the military cabinet led by retired brigadier general Noureddine Abdullah Rifai. Antoine Ghanem
Antoine Ghanem ( ar, أنطوان غانم; 10 August 1943 – 19 September 2007) was a Lebanese politician and an MP in the Lebanese Parliament. He was also a member of the Kataeb party and the March 14 Coalition. He was killed on 19 September 2007 in a car bomb explosion in the Sin el Fil suburb of Beirut. He was the eighth anti-Syrian figure assassinated since the assassination of Rafik Hariri on 14 February 2005.
