Ghana Post GPS
GhanaPostGPS is a web and smartphone application, sponsored by the government of Ghana and developed by Vokacom, to provide a digital addresses and postal codes for every 5 squared meter location in Ghana. The digital address is a composite of the postcode (region, district & area code) plus a unique address. A mandatory requirement in trying to obtain the National Identification Card and other services, GhanaPostGPS is the first digital addressing system created by the government of Ghana. Postal Codes In Ghana
Postal codes were adopted in Ghana on 18 October 2017, following the launch of the National Digital Address System. As a joint venture between Ghana Post (with support from the Government of Ghana]) and Vokacom Ltd as Ghana Post GPS, GhanaPost GPS, the Digital Address System assigned postal codes and unique addresses to every square in Ghana. Ghana's postal codes are alphanumeric. The first two characters form the postcode district - the first letter represents the region, and the second character represents the district in which the address is located. The next three to five digits represent the postcode area and identify a more precise location within area. Together, the postcode district and postcode area form the postal code. The Ghana Card is a national Identity card that is issued by the Ghanaian authorities to Ghanaian citizens – both resident and non-resident, and legally and permanently resident foreign nationals. It is proof of identity, citizenship and residence of the holder. The current version is in ID1 format and biometric.
