Geraldine Quinn
Geraldine Mary Quinn (born 7 June 1975) is a songwriter, guitarist, singer, comedian and actor based in Melbourne, Australia. She won the Best Emerging Cabaret Artiste award at the 2006 Green Room Awards (Australia), and was nominated for Original Songs. Personal and early life Quinn was born in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales and moved to Melbourne with her family at a young age. She attended St John's Regional College between 1987 and 1992. She trained as an actor at National Theatre Drama School. Eddie Perfect (born 17 December 1977) is an Australian singer-songwriter, pianist, comedian, writer and actor. Widely known for his role as Mick Holland in Network Ten, Channel Ten's TV series ''Offspring (TV series), Offspring'' in which he performs his own music, he has recorded solo albums and written and performed numerous cabaret shows, including ''Songs from the Middle'' with the Brodsky Quartet. Justin Hamilton (a.k.a. "Hammo") is an Australian comedian, writer and radio host. Early life Hamilton grew up in Adelaide, South Australia. Career He is a standup performer who started his comedy career in Adelaide in 1994 as part of a duo called The Bunta Boys with school mate Damien. They wrote and performed songs such as "Red Necked Boy" and "I Wanna Be Hip". The latter an inspired tribute to Rick Astley. ''Keating!'' is a sung-through musical which portrays the political career of former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating. Keating was Prime Minister between 1991 and 1996; the musical follows him from his ascent to the leadership through to his eventual electoral defeat by John Howard. It was written by Casey Bennetto, who was inspired to write the show by his disappointment at the results of the 2004 federal election, which saw Howard's Coalition government returned for a fourth term. The musical takes a humorous, satirical tone and presents a positive image of Keating while frequently criticising the Howard government. The Adelaide Cabaret Festival is an annual arts festival featuring cabaret held in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. It has been held in June each year since 2001, with the exception of 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, when an online event was presented on Facebook. History Adelaide Cabaret Festival emerged during a period of change and uncertainty. During the late 1990s the number of big stage musicals was in decline across the country.
