Gerald Preinfalk
Gerald Franz Preinfalk (9 June 1971 in Freistadt, Austria) is an Austrian saxophonist who is at home in both the field of jazz and classical music. Biography Preinfalk who grew up with brass bands, was nine years old when he started taking clarinet lessons, and when 15 he picked up the saxophone. In 1990 he began the instrumental studies at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien with Otto Vhrovnik and Wolfgang Puschnig. In 1993 he continued his studies at the Berklee College of Music with George Garzone, and in 1998 he studied classical saxophone at Serge Bertocchi in Paris. Since 2000 Preinfalk has been a member of Klangforum Wien, with guest performances with orchestras such as the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland Pfalz and the Staatsorchester Stuttgart. Freistadt (, literally "Freetown") is a small Austrian town in the state of Upper Austria in the region Mühlviertel. With a population of approximately 7,500 residents, it is a trade centre for local villages. Freistadt is the economic centre of a district of the same name District Freistadt. Georg Breinschmid
Georg Breinschmid (born 25 April 1973) is an Austrian double bass player. Biography Breinschmid studied classical double bass at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and substituted in Viennese orchestras as a student. From 1994 to 1996 he played with the Tonkünstler Orchestra, then with the Orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic, touring Europe, America, and Asia. In 1999, Breinschmid quit classical music in favor of jazz. He played with the Vienna Art Orchestra, the Zipflo Weinrich Group, and gave concerts in ensembles throughout Europe. He has worked with Charlie Mariano, Archie Shepp, Kenny Wheeler, Jasper van 't Hof, Adam Taubitz, Harry Sokal, Thomas Gansch, and Christian Muthspiel. Wolfgang Muthspiel
Wolfgang Muthspiel (born 2 March 1965) is an Austrian jazz guitarist and record label owner. He is the brother of musician Christian Muthspiel. Music career When he was six, he began playing violin, and at fourteen he moved on to classical guitar. He went to the Berklee College of Music on a scholarship. Beginning in 1985, he recorded three albums with his brother Christian. He released his first solo album, ''Timezones'', in 1989. For two years, he toured with Gary Burton and guitarist Mick Goodrick, one of his teachers at Berklee. During the 1990s, Muthspiel lived in New York City and recorded more solo albums. Wiener Volkstheater
The Volkstheater in Vienna (roughly translated as "People's Theatre") was founded in 1889 by request of the citizens of Vienna, amongst them the dramatist Ludwig Anzengruber and the furniture manufacturer Thonet, in order to offer a popular counter weight to the ''Hofburgtheater''. It was erected according to designs by Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer, who attempted to reconcile their plans with historicism. It is located in Neubau, the seventh district of Vienna.
