George Rudolph
George Ernest Rudolph (29 April 1901 – 1 April 1967) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1920s. Family The son of Frank Rudolph and Eliza Rudolph, née Barrett, George Ernest Rudolph was born in Steiglitz, Victoria on 29 April 1901. He married Edna Mary Maud White (1904–) on 14 April 1928. Football Said to be an idol of Richmond great Jack Dyer, Rudolph was a follower, who played originally with Hawthorn in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), but was also used in key positions. Steiglitz, Victoria
Steiglitz is a small settlement in the Brisbane Ranges National Park, Brisbane Ranges in Victoria (Australia), Victoria. It is located west of the state capital, Melbourne, Australia. At the , the Steiglitz area had a population of 53. The Stieglitz (surname)#Emigration, von Stieglitz family bought and settled the land on which Steiglitz now sits in 1835. They returned to Ireland in 1853, but retained ownership of the land, upon which gold was found the following year; it became the first auriferous quartz-mining site in Victoria. A settlement of gold-prospectors quickly developed, and took its (misspelled) name from the land's owners. The population reached 2000 by the 1863, including roughly 220 Chinese immigrants. Walter Gunnyon (16 May 1895 – 27 December 1972) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Fremantle in the West Australian Football League and St Kilda in the VFL in the 1920s. Playing career Gunnyon played four seasons with South Fremantle in the West Australian Football League, playing 54 games. He represented Western Australia in the 1921 Perth Carnival. In 1922 Gunnyon transferred to St Kilda in the VFL going on to play 63 games for the club, the latter games in an unfamiliar defensive role. Lefroy Football Club were an Australian rules football club which competed in the Tasmanian Football League (TFL/TANFL). They were known as ''The Blues'' and played their home games at North Hobart Oval as well as the Tasmanian Cricket Association Ground. Lefroy players wore dark and light blue as their club colours. The club was formed at a meeting called by Mr Oscar H. The North Hobart Football Club, nicknamed ''The Demons'', is an Australian rules football club which plays in the Tasmanian State League. The club returned to the state league in 2018 after its position was effectively filled by a new club, the Hobart City Football Club after the 2013 season. The Glenorchy District Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently playing in the Tasmanian State League and the Southern Football League in Tasmania, Australia. History The club is nicknamed the Magpies after its black and white playing strip, and was originally known as New Town Football Club (wearing a green and white strip) when it started out as a member of the Tasmanian Football League in 1919.
