George Henry Bethune
George Henry Bethune (September 19, 1878 – August 11, 1965) was a farmer and political figure in Ontario. He represented Wentworth in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1934 to 1943 as a Liberal member. He was born in Glanford township, the son of William F. Bethune and Helen Storar, both of Scottish origin, and was educated there. In 1911, Bethune married Annie M. Marshall. He served as reeve for Glanford. Glanford, Ontario
Glanbrook is the south-western district of the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was first created as an independent township in 1974 through the amalgamation of Mount Hope, Binbrook, Glanford, and other nearby communities. In 2001, Glanbrook became a dissolved municipality after it was amalgamated with Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Dundas, Ancaster and Flamborough to become the present city of Hamilton. Wentworth was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1904 to 1968. It was located near the City of Hamilton in the province of Ontario. This riding was first created in 1903 from parts of Wentworth North and Brant and Wentworth South ridings. Wentworth initially consisted of the county of Wentworth, excluding of the city of Hamilton. In 1914, it was expanded to include those portions of the city of Hamilton not included in Hamilton East and Hamilton West ridings. In 1947, it was redefined to consist of the county of Wentworth (excluding the townships of Beverly, Ancaster, Glanford and Binbrook), and the northern part the city of Hamilton.
