George Feyer
George Feyer (1921 – March 1967) was a Canadian cartoonist who shot to fame through appearances on CBC Television in the 1950s. As a cartoonist for Maclean's magazine he helped to define the look of Canadian popular culture through the 1950s and 1960s. Career Born in Hungary, Feyer emigrated to Canada after the Soviet takeover of that country and found work as a labourer. After publishing a cartoon in Maclean's, he embarked on a lucrative career that included stints as a television personality (on programmes such as '' Clarke, Campbell & Co.'') and animator. Canadian Cartoonist Hall Of Fame
The Canadian Cartoonist Hall of Fame, formally known as Giants of the North: The Canadian Cartoonist Hall of Fame, honours significant lifelong contributions to the art of Cartoonist, cartooning in Canada. Doug Wright Award
The Doug Wright Awards for Canadian Cartooning (established in December 2004) are literary awards handed out annually since 2005 during the Toronto Comic Arts Festival to Canadian cartoonists honouring excellence in comics (including webcomics) and graphic novels published in English (including translated works). The awards are named in honour of Canadian cartoonist Doug Wright. ''Take 30'' (also expressed as ''Take Thirty'') was a Canadian television newsmagazine series, which aired on CBC Television from 1962 to 1984 for 2,500 episodes. An afternoon series originally designed as a "women's show", the series gradually evolved into a showcase for serious journalism, airing documentary reports and interviews on social and cultural topics.
