Eugen Berthold Friedrich Brecht (10 February 1898 – 14 August 1956), known professionally as Bertolt Brecht, was a German theatre practitioner, playwright, and poet. Coming of age during the Weimar Republic, he had his first successes as a playwright in Munich and moved to Berlin in 1924, where he wrote ''The Threepenny Opera'' with Kurt Weill and began a life-long collaboration with the composer Hanns Eisler. Annibale Ruccello
Annibale Ruccello (7 February 1956 – 12 September 1986) was an Italian playwright, theatre director, and actor. Biography Annibale Ruccello was born in Castellammare di Stabia, on the outskirts of Naples, Italy. His father was Ermanno Ruccello and his mother was Giuseppina de Nonno. In 1977 he graduated in philosophy from the University of Naples Federico II. As a student, he wrote a thesis on Andrea Perruci's (1698). His paper examined Perruci's religious piece through cultural anthropology. Ruccello was later a member of a group of researchers who studied the popular traditions and language of Campania, led by Roberto De Simone, a Neapolitan composer and musicologist. Career Ruccello began acting in Torre del Greco, Italy, as Gennaro Vitiello formed ''Teatro del Garage''. This group included other artists like Mario Martone and Enzo Moscato. Ugo Foscolo
Ugo Foscolo (; 6 February 177810 September 1827), born Niccolò Foscolo, was an Italian writer, revolutionary and a poet. He is especially remembered for his 1807 long poem ''Dei Sepolcri''. Early life Foscolo was born in Zakynthos in the Ionian Islands. His father Andrea Foscolo was an impoverished Venetian nobleman, and his mother Diamantina Spathis was Greek. In 1788, upon the death of his father, who worked as a physician in Spalato (present-day Split, Croatia), the family moved to Venice, and Foscolo completed the studies he began at the Dalmatian grammar school at the University of Padua. Amongst his Paduan teachers was the Abbé Melchiore Cesarotti, whose version of '' Ossian'' was very popular in Italy, and who influenced Foscolo's literary tastes; he knew both modern and Ancient Greek. Arthur Schnitzler (15 May 1862 – 21 October 1931) was an Austrian author and dramatist. Biography Arthur Schnitzler was born at Praterstrasse 16, Leopoldstadt, Vienna, capital of the Austrian Empire (as of 1867, part of the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary). He was the son of a prominent Hungarian laryngologist, Johann Schnitzler (1835–1893), and Luise Markbreiter (1838–1911), a daughter of the Viennese doctor Philipp Markbreiter. His parents were both from Jewish families. In 1879 Schnitzler began studying medicine at the University of Vienna and in 1885 he received his doctorate of medicine.
