Genghis Danger
''Genghis Danger'' is an extended play by British dubstep and drum and bass producer Rusko. It was released by Canadian record label Deadbeats on 18 November 2019. It contains four songs, including dubstep tracks "Go Up", "One Family", and "Bumbaclat" as well as the neurofunk Neurofunk (also known informally as neuro) is a dark subgenre of drum and bass which emerged between 1997 and 1998 in London, England as a progression of techstep. It was further developed by juxtaposing elements of darker, heavier, and harder ... song "Oh My God". Background and release The title of the extended play came from Rusko asking his 3-year-old son what he should call it, with him responding "Genghis Danger". Rusko's son was also featured on the cover art. On 18 November 2019, the extended play was released as a digital download on international digital stores through Canadian record label Deadbeats, as well as being released through various music streaming services. Rusko (musician)
Christopher William Mercer (born 26 January 1985), known by stage name Rusko, is a British electronic music producer and DJ from York, England. History Rusko was born in Leeds and brought up in nearby York. He grew up in Wheldrake just outside of the city and attended Fulford School. He later graduated from Leeds College of Music with a degree in Music Performance. Immersed in the world of dubstep through Leeds based event "Sub Dub" which was held at the West Indian Centre, Rusko moved to London to work with the record label Sub Soldiers with now no longer associated act Caspa. During this period he introduced producer Reso to dubstep and the two lived for a time together, driving his flatmate "a bit mental" with hearing the track "Cockney Thug" through the wall for a week. Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. Neurofunk
Neurofunk (also known informally as neuro) is a dark subgenre of drum and bass which emerged between 1997 and 1998 in London, England as a progression of techstep. It was further developed by juxtaposing elements of darker, heavier, and harder forms of funk with multiple influences ranging from techno, house and jazz, distinguished by consecutive stabs over the bassline; razor-sharp backbeats; scarce or nonexistent traditional melodies; a hyper focus on sub sound design; the use of modulated, distorted and filtered synthesizers and audio capture from samplers such as the Akai S1000 and Emu E6400.
