Gazipur ( bn, গাজীপুর) is a city in central Bangladesh. It is located in the Gazipur District. It is a major industrial city north of Dhaka. It is a hub for the textile industry in Bangladesh. Gazipur ( bn, গাজীপুর) is a district in central Bangladesh, part of the Dhaka Division. It has an area of 1741.53 km2. It is the home district of Tajuddin Ahmad, the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh and has been a prominent centre of battles and movements throughout history. Gazipur Sadar ( bn, গাজীপুর সদর) is an upazila (sub-district) of the Gazipur District in central Bangladesh, part of the Dhaka Division. Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) is the chief law enforcement agency in Gazipur, Bangladesh. Kapasia ( bn, কাপাসিয়া) is an upazila (sub-district) of Gazipur District in central Bangladesh, part of the Dhaka Division. It is located at , and is best known as the home upazila of Tajuddin Ahmad, the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh. Ahsanullah Master
Ahsanullah Master (9 November 1950 – 7 May 2004) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a Jatiya Sangsad member from the Gazipur-2 constituency. He was a notable trade union leader who was assassinated in May 2004. He was awarded Independence Award in 2021 posthumously. Early life and career Master completed his bachelor's from the University of Dhaka and started his career in teaching profession. During 1983–1988, he led the Pubail Union Parishad in the Gazipur District. He later served as the chairman of Gazipur Upazila Council. Master was a member of Mukti Bahini and fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was elected to parliament form Gazipur-2 constituency in 1996 and 2001. Death Master was shot dead in a conference along with Omar Faruq Ratan in Tongi, Gazipur on 7 May 2004. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park is a safari park in Gazipur, Bangladesh. This safari park is spread over 3810 acres (1542 ha) of Sal Forest which makes it one of the largest safari parks in the world and the largest in Asia. It was inaugurated on October 31, 2013. It is located about 40 km north of Bangladesh's capital city Dhaka near the Dhaka - Mymensingh Highway. The park is divided into 5 major sections. Tajuddin Ahmed
Tajuddin Ahmad ( bn, তাজউদ্দীন আহমদ; ; 23 July 1925 – 3 November 1975) was a Bangladeshi politician and statesman. He led the Provisional Government of Bangladesh as its prime minister during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 and is regarded as one of the most instrumental figures in the birth of Bangladesh. Tajuddin began as a Muslim League youth worker in British India. He belonged to the Dhaka-based pro-democracy, secular Muslim League faction, which broke with the Muslim League's reactionary party line after the partition of India and the birth of Pakistan. As a member of the short-lived youth organisation the Jubo League, he actively participated in the Language Movement in 1952.
