GURPS Goblins
''GURPS Goblins'' is a supplement published by Steve Jackson Games in 1996 for the third edition of ''GURPS'' (''Generic Universal Role-PLaying System''). Contents ''GURPS Goblins'' enables players to create and play goblin characters in an alternate world populated by goblins, set in Georgian England. The book is divided into nine chapters that cover all aspects of goblin society in 1830, from laws and punishments to diseases and medicines. Four short scenarios are also included. Publication history ''GURPS Goblins'' was published for the 3rd edition of ''GURPS'' by Steve Jackson Games in 1996. The 144-page book was written by Malcolm Dale and Klaude Thomas, with illustrations by Guy Burwell, Michael Gussow, and Dan Smith. The ''Generic Universal RolePlaying System'', or ''GURPS'', is a tabletop role-playing game system designed to allow for play in any game setting. It was created by Steve Jackson Games and first published in 1986 at a time when most such systems were story- or genre-specific. Players control their in-game characters verbally and the success of their actions are determined by the skill of their character, the difficulty of the action, and the rolling of dice. Characters earn points during play which are used to gain greater abilities. Gaming sessions are story-told and run by " Game Masters" (often referred to as simply "GMs"). ''GURPS'' won the Origins Award for ''Best Roleplaying Rules of 1988'', and in 2000 it was inducted into the Origins Hall of Fame. Many of its expansions have also won awards. Steve Jackson Games (SJGames) is a game company, founded in 1980 by Steve Jackson, that creates and publishes role-playing, board, and card games, and (until 2019) the gaming magazine ''Pyramid''. History Founded in 1980, six years after the creation of ''Dungeons & Dragons'', SJ Games created several role-playing and strategy games with science fiction themes. SJ Games' early titles were microgames initially sold in 4×7 inch ziploc bags, and later in the similarly sized Pocket Box. Guy Burwell
Guy Burwell (born 1965) is an illustrator and designer based in Portland, Oregon. He is primarily known for making limited edition rock concert posters. Despite the fact that rock posters are a predominantly American art form, Burwell's work is also highly appreciated and collected in Europe. Burwell's art has been featured in numerous articles, as well as in the definitive books of the genre such as ''Gig Posters Vol. 1: Rock Show Art of the 21st Century'' by Clay Hayes and ''Art of Modern Rock: The Poster Explosion'' by Paul Grushkin and Dennis King. Guy Burwell also contributed art for the cover of Germany's ''Low Magazine'', Vol. 6 of June 2010 and has been featured in ''Voice Magazines 11th volume dedicated to Rock Art. He headlined the Röckaholics II Rock Art Show in Zurich, Switzerland alongside other famous gig poster artists and created the official show poster.
