GMA Iloilo
DYXX-TV, Channel 6 (analog) and Channel 29 (digital), is a commercial television station of Philippine television network GMA. It is owned by Asian-Pacific Broadcasting Company under the operations of GMA Network Inc. Its studios and transmitter are located at the GMA Compound, Phase 5, Alta Tierra Village, MacArthur Drive, Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro, Iloilo City. It covers the entire Western Visayas (Region 6). Very High Frequency
Very high frequency (VHF) is the ITU designation for the range of radio frequency electromagnetic waves ( radio waves) from 30 to 300 megahertz (MHz), with corresponding wavelengths of ten meters to one meter. Frequencies immediately below VHF are denoted high frequency (HF), and the next higher frequencies are known as ultra high frequency (UHF). VHF radio waves propagate mainly by line-of-sight, so they are blocked by hills and mountains, although due to refraction they can travel somewhat beyond the visual horizon out to about 160 km (100 miles). ''Bongga!'' () is a Philippine television variety-oriented show broadcast by GMA Iloilo and GMA Bacolod. Hosted by Jigo Mambo, John Arceo, Leez Quimpo, Em Capalla and Joan Jalandoni, it premiered on May 16, 1999, The show concluded on September 2, 2007. The show was popular for its segments "Pok Gi Pok", a gay boxing challenge where two gay contestants battle it out using oversized hand gloves; and "Bongga Babes", a bikini-open contest featuring the sexiest babes in Western Visayas. Typhoon Mike, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Ruping, of 1990 was the strongest typhoon to hit the Philippines since Typhoon Irma in 1981 and Typhoon Nina in 1987. Forming from an area of persistent convection over the Caroline Islands, Mike was first designated on November 6, 1990 and moved generally westward. Later that day, the depression strengthened to Tropical Storm Mike near Yap. Mike became a typhoon early on November 9, and subsequently entered a period of rapid deepening. Late on November 10, the typhoon reached its maximum intensity of , as estimated by the Japanese Meteorological Agency. After weakening slightly, Mike made landfall in the central Philippines. Iloilo Freedom Grandstand
The Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, also known as the New Iloilo Freedom Grandstand, is a grandstand located on Muelle Loney Street in Iloilo City Proper, Iloilo City, Philippines. It was built in 2018 as a replacement for the old grandstand with the same name located on Calle Real, which was demolished the same year as part of the revival project of Sunburst Park, where the grandstand used to be located. The Dinagyang Festival is a religious and Festival, cultural festival in Iloilo City, Philippines, held annually on the 4th Sunday of January, or right after the Sinulog in Cebu City, Cebu and the Ati-Atihan Festival in Kalibo, Aklan. The Circle 7 logo is an often-used television station logo in the United States. Designed in the early 1960s for the American Broadcasting Company's five owned-and-operated stations (all of which broadcast on VHF channel 7), the logo, or a version of it, is currently being used not only by several ABC stations and affiliates, but also by a number of television broadcasters around the world.
