GIC Deoria
Government Inter College Deoria or GIC Deoria () is a historical college. Located in the Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, India and is away from the Deoria Railway Station and away from the Deoria Bus Stand. The old name of this college was King Edward High School. It was established on 8 October 1912. Its current principal is Mr. P. K. Sharma. There are hostels here and there is also two bicycle stand. Admission Selection is made through written entrance test in English, Hindi and Math & Biology followed by an interview. Students and faculty The students strength of the school is 4000. Total number of teachers are 50. Deoria is a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is one of five tehsils of the Deoria district. Deoria is located 45 km east of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, Gorakhpur and about 317 km from the state capital Lucknow. It shares its east border with Bihar. Demographics As of 2011 Indian Census, Deoria had a total population of 129,479, of which 67,462 were males and 62,017 were females. Population within the age group of 0 to 6 years was 14,779. The total number of literates in Deoria was 99,562, which constituted 76.9% of the population with male literacy of 81.1% and female literacy of 72.3%. Girishwar Misra (born 21 April 1951) is a social scientist, psychologist and author from India. He obtained an M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Gorakhpur University. He started his career as lecturer in psychology at Lecturer, Gorakhpur University in 1970.
