The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, commonly known as the GHMC is the civic body that oversees Hyderabad, the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Telangana. 2020 Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Election
The 2020 Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election was conducted on 1 December 2020 to elect members to all 150 wards of the municipal corporation. The BJP made significant inroads into the GHMC, much at the loss of the TRS. After the results were declared, the TRS formed the government with outside support from the AIMIM. Malkajgiri also known as Mallikarjuna Giri (Anicent Name) is a suburb of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is located in Medchal–Malkajgiri district and also Sub-District in Medchal District is the headquarters of Malkajgiri mandal in Malkajgiri revenue division. Alwal is a major locality in Secunderabad city, and a suburb of Hyderabad. Earlier, Alwal was a part of Malkajgiri Mandal but in 2006, Alwal Municipality was merged into Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. After the district bifurcation Alwal Municipality became a new Mandal "Alwal Mandal", in Malkajgiri revenue division, with Alwal as the Mandal Headquarters. Gadwal Vijayalakshmi is an Indian-born politician serving as the current mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) since 11 February 2021. Chaderghat is considered one of the busiest areas of Hyderabad city and is located on the banks of Musi River (India), Musi River. Chaderghat Bridge was built during the time of the Nizams and connects major suburbs to the main city. The original name of Chadherghat was "Oliphant Nagar".
