Göteborgs Kvinnoförening
Gothenburg Women's Association ( sv, Göteborgs Kvinnoförening) was the first women's organisation active in Gothenburg, Sweden's second largest city. It was active from 1884 to 1891. It published the radical magazine ''Framåt'' (Forward). Göteborgs Kvinnoförening was founded 30 October 1884 by a group of liberal upper-class women in Gothenburg under the leadership of Mathilda Hedlund (chairperson 1884–88), the daughter of the radical liberal publicist Sven Adolf Hedlund, and had 89 members during its first year. It was founded as a local answer to Fredrika Bremer Association, which was founded in Stockholm the same year. Gothenburg (; abbreviated Gbg; sv, Göteborg ) is the second-largest city in Sweden, fifth-largest in the Nordic countries, and capital of the Västra Götaland County. Frigga Carlberg
Frigga Carlberg, née Anna Fredrika Lundgren (10 August 1851 – 3 October 1925), was a Swedish writer, social worker, feminist and advocate for women's suffrage. She was a member of the central committee of the National Association for Women's Suffrage from 1903 to 1921 and chair of the Gothenburg branch of the Swedish Society for Woman Suffrage from 1902 to 1921. Biography Frigga Carlberg was born in the parish of Falkenberg in Halland County, Sweden. She was born into a wealthy family but had great difficulty to persuade her father to allow her to study. She moved to Gothenburg after her marriage to the post official Andreas Carlberg (1850–1921) in 1876. The National Association for Women's Suffrage ( sv, Landsföreningen för kvinnans politiska rösträtt, LKPR) was a part of the general suffrage movement and the national society for women's suffrage in Sweden. It functioned as a parallel to the :sv: Sveriges allmänna rösträttsförbund, Sveriges allmänna rösträttsförbund (SARF; 'The Swedish League for Universal Suffrage') which was active mainly in acquiring full suffrage for males. Ingrid Mathilda Kruse Malling (Jan 20, 1864 – Mar 21, 1942), known as Mathilda Malling, and even better known by her early pen name, Stella Kleve, was a Swedish novelist born January 20, 1864, on her family's farm, in North Mellby Parish, Kristianstad County, Sweden and died in København, Esajas sn, Sjælland, Copenhagen in 1942. The Nordic sexual morality debate (Danish: ''sædelighedsfejden'', Swedish: ''sedlighetsdebatten'', Norwegian: ''sedelighetsdebatten'') was the name for a cultural movement and public debate in Scandinavia in the 1880s, where sexuality and sexual morals were discussed in newspapers, magazines, books and theatrical plays.
