Gösta Wihlborg
Gösta "Pysen" Wihlborg (19 February 1898 – 28 November 1968) was a Swedish-American football player, best known for representing Hammarby IF. A full international between 1919 and 1923, he won 7 caps for the Sweden national team. Club career Hammarby IF In 1915, Hammarby IF established a football section after a merger with Klara SK, where Wihlborg had started to play as a youngster. On 15 August the same year, Wihlborg scored in the club's first ever football match, in a 5–0 home win against Västerås SK.Persson, p. 60-62 Wihlborg soon established himself as one of Hammarby's key players, together with goalkeeper Victor Olsson and striker Gustav Björk. In 1921, Hammarby debuted in the Svenska Serien, by then the highest league in Swedish football. Örgryte Idrottssällskap, commonly referred to as Örgryte IS, Örgryte () or (especially locally) ÖIS or Öis, is a Swedish sports club based in Gothenburg. It consists of four departments, namely bowling, football, athletics and wrestling. However, the club is best known for its football department. It is the oldest football club in Sweden. The Sweden national football team has traditionally been a strong team in international football, with twelve World Cup appearances—collecting one silver and two bronze medals—and three medals in the Olympics, including one gold. Sweden played its first international game against Norway in 1908 and competed in an international tournament, the Summer Olympics, for the first time the same year. While the land of the American frontier was a magnet for the rural poor all over Europe, some factors encouraged Swedish emigration in particular.
