Göran Hägerdal
Karl Göran Hägerdal (born March 11, 1966 in Kristdala parish, Kalmar County, SwedenSveriges befolkning 1990, CD-ROM, Version 1.00, Riksarkivet (2011)) is the Global Director of Scouting Development at the World Scout Bureau headquarters of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in Kuala Lumpur, and served as one of three camp chiefs of the 22nd World Scout Jamboree at Rinkaby, Kristianstad, Skåne in southern Sweden, 27 July to 7 August 2011. Between 2004 and 2012 he was Deputy Secretary General of the Svenska Scoutrådet, the former umbrella organization for Swedish Scouting. Hägerdal has been involved in the Scout movement in various roles since age eight. In 1996, he was deputy camp chief of the World Scout Moot conducted in Ransberg Manor, Ransäter, Värmland. Scouting And Guiding In Sweden
Scouting and Guiding in Sweden is represented by one organisation Scouterna as a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement and World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. It was formed in 2012 as the successor to Svenska Scoutrådet (''The Swedish Guide and Scout Council'', SSR) which consisted of five different associations. Scouting in Sweden was founded in 1910 by Ebbe Liberath and Guiding followed in 1910. The Swedish Boy Scouts were among the charter members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922. Bronze Wolf Award
The Bronze Wolf Award is bestowed by the World Scout Committee (WSC) to acknowledge "outstanding service by an individual to the World Scout Movement". It is the highest honor that can be given a volunteer Scout leader in the world and it is the only award given by the WSC. Since the award's creation in 1935, fewer than 400 of the several millions of Scouts throughout the world have received the award. History Scouting's founder, Robert Baden-Powell, initially recognized outstanding contributions to Scouting by any Scout with the bestowal of the Silver Wolf, but although he was Chief Scout of the World, the Silver Wolf was associated with British Scouting. The Silver World Award is a distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). It is presented for noteworthy and extraordinary service to youth on an international basis. Recipients must be a citizen of a country with a Scouting program that is a member of the World Scout Conference. Registered members of the BSA are not eligible for this award. Silver Wolf Award (Scouterna)
The Silver Wolf (Swedish: Silvervargen) is the highest award made by Swedish Scouting, to active leaders at the national level for exceptionally meritorious work. The award consists of a stylized silver wolf with a fleur-de-lis with the words "Scouterna", suspended from a turquoise neck ribbon. The Silver Wolf will be distributed by someone who already holds the award. The Silver Wolf was established in 1920 for extraordinary contributions to Scouting. The original badge also meant that apart from being first-class, the Scout also passed tests for first aid and another 15 specific merit badges. When the 1935 World Scout Conference decided that each country would have a Silver Wolf as the highest award at the national level, Sweden chose to continue with the Silver Wolf but then changed so that the Svenska Scoutunionen (Swedish Scout Union) distributed it. 21st World Scout Jamboree
The 21st World Scout Jamboree was held in July and August 2007, and formed a part of the Scouting 2007 Centenary celebrations of the world Scout Movement. The event was hosted by the United Kingdom, as 2007 marked the 100th anniversary of the founding of Scouting on Brownsea Island. The event was held for 12 days between 27 July and 8 August, in Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex. This site was selected because of the easy access to air and sea transport, and it is also near Gilwell Park, an important campsite and training centre for Scout Leaders. Over 38,000 Scouts and leaders from 158 countries which have a recognised National Scout Organization (recognition is conferred by membership in the World Organization of the Scout Movement) camped for the event, while over 50,000 others attended for day visits. Värmland () also known as Wermeland, is a '' landskap'' (historical province) in west-central Sweden.
