Gérard Lenorman
Gérard Lenorman (born 9 February 1945) is a French singer-songwriter. Lenorman was born at the Château de Bénouville, Calvados (Normandy) when it was a maternity hospital. He is the son of Madeleine Lenormand and an unknown German soldier. Lenorman has four children with his ex-wife Caroline: Mathieu, Justine, Clémence and Victor. He released his first album in 1969. In 1988, he represented France in the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin, Ireland, reaching tenth place with " Chanteur de charme". Lenorman was very popular in France and Francophonie, during the 1970s and early 1980s. In 1994, a compilation of his hits ''Vos plus belles chansons'' went gold in France. In 2007, he released a biography entitled ''Je suis né à vingt ans'' ("I was born at the age of 20") in which the singer explains the unknown identity of his father. Bénouville () is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. It is located on the Canal de Caen à la Mer close to Caen and Ouistreham. Christine Minier (born 1964 in Saint-Raphaël, Var) is a French singer. In 1987 whilst working as a hairdresser, Christine Minier won the French National Final to represent France at the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest with the song " Les mots d'amour n'ont pas de dimanche". The Eurovision Song Contest 1989 was the 34th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Lausanne, Switzerland, following Céline Dion's victory at the with the song "Ne partez pas sans moi". Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (SRG SSR), the contest was held at Palais de Beaulieu on 6 May 1989 and was hosted by Swiss model Lolita Morena and journalist Jacques Deschenaux. Twenty-two countries took part in the contest with returning after having been disqualified the year before. The winner was with the song " Rock Me" by Croatian band Riva. This was the only victory for Yugoslavia as a unified state. As of 2022 they are still the last act to win the contest performing last. Nathalie Dominique Françoise Pâque (born 11 May 1977, Liège) is a Belgian singer, best known for her participation on behalf of France in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest. Pâque was internally selected by channel Antenne 2 to represent France with the song "J'ai volé la vie" ("I've Stolen Life") in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Lausanne, Switzerland on 6 May. At five days short of her 12th birthday, Pâque was the youngest performer ever to take a lead vocal at Eurovision. "J'ai volé la vie" finished in eighth place of the 22 entrants.
