György Gyimesi
György Gyimesi (born 24 August 1980) is a Slovak politician who has been MP of the National Council of Slovakia since 2020. Early life György Gyimesi was born on 24 August 1980 in Kráľovský Chlmec. He was born as Juraj Gyimesi but legally changed his given name to György in 2020. His father Július Gyimesi was a physician and served as an MP of the Czechoslovak Federal Assembly from 1990 to 1991. Gyimesi studied public policy at the Pavel Jozef Šafárik University. Political career Gyimesi failed to win a seat in the 2020 Slovak parliamentary election on the list of the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO). Nonetheless, he became an MP as a replacement for Jaroslav Naď. Kráľovský Chlmec
Kráľovský Chlmec (; until 1948 ''Kráľovský Chlumec'', hu, Királyhelmec) is a town in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of south-eastern Slovakia. It has a population of around 8,000. Etymology The name means "Royal Hill". Slovak ''chlm'', Czech ''chlum'', Polish ''chełm'' are derived from a Proto-Slavic ''chъlmъ'' - a hill, ''chlmec'' - a smaller hill, an elevated location. History The town was first mentioned in 1214 as ''Helmech''. In 1848-1849, residents of Kráľovský Chlmec took part in the Civic Revolution and War of Independence. 2023 Slovak Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Slovakia on 30 September 2023 to elect members of the National Council. The 2020 Slovak parliamentary election resulted in a coalition government led by the Ordinary People and Independent Personalities movement. On 15 December 2022 the Slovak government lost a no-confidence vote, and a snap election in 2023 was demanded by the President of Slovakia, Zuzana Čaputová, and the opposition. The last snap election in Slovakia was in 2012. TV JOJ is a Slovak private TV channel owned by J&T Enterprises and launched in March 2002. The channel screens serial dramas and TV shows. History It was launched on 2 March 2002 as a successor of the TV Global, which had been broadcasting since March 2000. The station's first slogan was "Nuda na Slovensku skončila" - "Boredom in Slovakia has finished". TV JOJ was built by former head of the Czech channel TV Nova, Vladimír Železný, when he was at war with TV Nova's U.S. investor Central European Media Enterprises (CME). Through Joj, Železný wanted to shake the dominance of CME's station in Slovakia, TV Markíza, which was enjoying almost 50 percent of the country's nationwide audience. Eduard Heger (; born 3 May 1976) is a Slovak politician, serving as Prime Minister of Slovakia since 1 April 2021. He previously served as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in the cabinet of Igor Matovič. Heger is a member of the presidium of the populist movement Ordinary People and Independent Personalities (OĽaNO). Early life Heger was born in 1976 in Bratislava to parents employed in culture. Denník N is a Slovak daily newspaper and a news website which was founded by the former members of the editorial board of SME in 2014. History In 2014, the Namav, a subject subvenced by the Penta Investments group, announced the purchase of Petit Press, the publisher of the newspaper.
