Guy's And St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is an NHS foundation trust of the English National Health Service, one of the prestigious Shelford Group. It runs Guy's Hospital in London Bridge, St Thomas' Hospital in Waterloo, Evelina London Children's Hospital, two specialist heart and lung hospitals, Royal Brompton and Harefield and community services in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham. They have a degree of independence from the Department of Health and Social Care (and, until the abolition of SHAs in 2013, their local strategic health authority). Synnovis, formerly Viapath, is a London-based provider of pathology services. It is a partnership between Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and SYNLAB UK & Ireland. The Synnovis brand was launched in October 2022. Care Quality Commission
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is an executive non-departmental public body of the Department of Health and Social Care of the United Kingdom. It was established in 2009 to regulate and inspect health and social care services in England. Eileen Sills
Dame Eileen Sills, DBE FRCN (born June 1962) is the Chief Nurse, Director of Patient Experience and Infection Control and a member of the board at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. She was also, briefly, the first Freedom to Speak Up National Guardian. Career Before taking up the National Guardian post, she was additionally senior nursing advisor at the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Chair of the nurses group for the Shelford Group of leading NHS Foundation Trusts. 2022 United Kingdom Heat Wave
The 2022 United Kingdom heatwaves were part of several heatwaves across Europe and North Africa. The United Kingdom experienced three heatwaves; the first was for three days in June, the second for three days in July, and the third for six days in August. These were periods of unusually hot weather caused by rising high pressure up from the European continent.
