Guttorm Vik
Guttorm Asbjørn Vik (born 28 July 1943) is a Norwegian diplomat. He grew up in Brattvåg, graduated with the siv.øk. from the Norwegian School of Economics in 1971 and started working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972. He was a deputy under-secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1994. From 1995 to 2000 he served as vice secretary-genera of EFTA. He then served as the Norwegian ambassador to Iceland from 2003 to 2007 and the OSCE in Vienna from 2007 to 2011. He then became a senior adviser in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until his retirement in 2013. He resides at Høvik Høvik is a suburban area in the municipality of Bærum, Viken, Norway, in the Oslo metropolitan area. Mainly a residential area, its population (2005) is 4,311. Brattvåg is a village in Ålesund Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the Norwegian mainland, along the west side of the Samfjorden. Siviløkonom (literally "civil economist") is an academic degree issued within the field of business administration. It consists of a 3 year bachelor's degree followed by a two years masters degree and is also a professional title in Norway (with corresponding titles in Denmark and Sweden, see below under "See also"), obtained after the total of 5 years of studies. Høvik is a suburban area in the municipality of Bærum, Viken, Norway, in the Oslo metropolitan area. Mainly a residential area, its population (2005) is 4,311. It is normal to divide Høvik into two parts; Nedre (lower) and Øvre (upper). Høvik has a church, a small shopping area and a railway station, Høvik Station, served by Drammensbanen.
